Benfica rejected offers over 25m for him in recent years & now want to get rid for not even half that (Fenerbahce was rumoured to pick him up for 10m).

Also somewhat of a free kick specialist & a bit of an actor.

I honestly wouldn't know who to go for if I was in charge of buying our next striker(s).

Do you go for Cavani who you will know will get you goals, but will cost you a very large proportion of your transfer budget.

Or

Do you go for a young striker who has shown promise and will get better each year and will only cost £20ish million.
The young African lad who plays in France.

Or

Someone in the middle. Not prolific, but one who has a decent record and will cost £30ish million.
Lewandoski, Soldado, Gomez or the lads mentioned above.

Any suggestions on who you think we should bring in?

Well it seems Pellegrini is going to use the winger option in Navas to feed Dzeko,s bonce ..... Benteke is also an awesome header of the ball ? makes sense to me ! We also need a top top qualtity striker to make the 4 ........ still got a feeling we still may be in for Cavani or Lewandowski but again are any of them two better than Tevez or Balotelli ?????
Not really here

If Atletico are in for him I don't see why he'd come here over there as he'd be their #1 and here he'd have to fight for places.

If we sign Lewandowski, I think the 4th striker will e Guidetti or a kid from the academy. If we are playing a 4-3-3 then we don't really need a 4th striker.

Saw something today about John moving on. Dunno if it'd be a sale or loan. Just rumors though

His latest tweet and pic on twitter would give the impression that all is good, maybe he had a chat with Pellegrini.

@superguidetti So looking forward 2 This year :) MCFC

I would like to see the kid get a full season so we can see what potential he has.

Would be a surprise if Guidetti is match fit for the start of the season. Then he has to learn how to play in the Premier League. I hope people don't expect too much of him & allow him time to adapt.

Re Oscar Cardozo. We have been linked with him going back years & when it first happened, I started watching him whenever he was on tv, & I thought 'you must be fucking joking'. He was dogshit.

When I've seen him in recent years though, he's been pretty impressive.

Be interesting to see if we do pick up another couple of older players.

I was expecting young players, but of course thinking about it, too many young players block the route to the first team of the academy players & also need to learn the ropes for Europe etc, so it could be that any young players we sign will only be of the 'potential world star' variety.

it seams we are in for Oscar Cardozo.

Ok.
That's pretty clear signal that the Engineer has given him some assurances of first team football.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

If you go on the MCFC app, then in to players and look at the strikers it has got Aguero, Dzeko, Guidetti and ...............Scott Sinclair. He has recently moved from the midfield section to the strikers! I will be v underwhelmed if that is the final 4.

Like Ellen as the last of the final five, very disappointing.

It seems as if we are not interested in paying the stupid money required for the current 'A' list strikers, mainly Cavani, so pretty much any of the players we have been linked with are viable 3rd striker options. None are guaranteed but all are potentially able to do the job.

Anybody noticed; what is starting to happen is 'management' ?

Signing players who aren't neccessarily that obvious, to fit certain jobs needed for the team plan & letting others go because it suits the circumstances they are in & the budget of the club, not neccessarily because you want to ?

As opposed to 'bring me the head of Alfredo Garcia' ?
