Reasonable from Klopp, but greeted in the media like an Oscar Wilde witticism, same way they elevated 'squeaky bum time' to the level of an oracular utterance.

Poor fucker, having to do his business in the land of the misery. His will to live will be sucked out of him and he'll soon be fawning all things candle-lit, laying wreaths and sporting black armbands for the loss of Jaws, the Dippers latest victim.

Good luck pal, and keep that smile bright. Just not bright in a Brentan sort of way.

Better yet, they still have Super Milner!... All Liverpool FC needs to do is clone James Milner & play him in every position, where they are missing injured players... Just add a wee bit of Slippy G. DNA to the Milner stem cells, for that extra portion of YNWA captain leadership... calling Captain Milner, to the rescue!

'Usually, when you buy a new house you get a present. I am not happy with my present', said Klopp.

What was it Jurgen, a stinking great turd on the front room carpet?

And, what a strange report on SSN. We now seem to have the Klopp show rather than the Dippers with a very sympathetic take on their game. Not one mention of them only pulling it back because they were playing against 10 men for half of the game.

I didn't see the game but I'm sure there were no empty seats. The media would have surely pointed that out if they had.

We would have been crucified for not beating 10 men. Naive and overpaid. Go and light a candle Flopp, I've enjoyed your start.

Flopp so far - it's a 100% no win record playing against an average of 10.5 players - even the dickwipe Rodgers did better than that.
If we had De Gea and the rags had Hart, we'd be top with a 9 point lead and they'd be in 12th place - that's the difference between a 'good' keeper and a 'top class' keeper - 12 places - think about it.

In fairness, the place looked full on TV. They started off with a decent noise and all the enthusiasm, you'd expect. But, it all went very flat and quiet after Rubin scored.
Seriously, you could hear every shout on the pitch, echoed around the park.
They found their voices briefly after they equalised, but this petered out in the second half again.
You get the impression that their new found hope, is not even fooling themselves anymore. Like they want to be upbeat but are finding it quite difficult.
On Setanta, they showed the fans streaming out with about 5 minutes to go.

Here's the BBC, openly lamenting Southampton's equaliser.

The Manchester derby, the Wear-Tyne derby, Klopp's first Premier League game at Anfield - storylines that seemed sure to produce drama.

Instead the meeting between Manchester United and Manchester City was a dismal, goalless anti-climax and Klopp's big day ended in the disappointment of conceding that late goal against Southampton.

The derby at the Stadium of Light did serve up the controversy of Fabricio Coloccini being sent off for Newcastle as Sunderland won 3-0 - but in terms of action the big day was something of a let-down.

It was two Chelsea supporters, visiting.
Wasn't their fault.
