Let’s see if they chant about Ronaldo tonight. Wouldn’t put it past them

Apparently dippers have planned a tribute to Ronaldo pre match, I maybe cynical but it smacks of virtue signalling, that they are respectful unlike those City fans on Saturday, could be wrong, but is my gut feel

I hope Ronaldo plays and scores the winner. We'll see how well behaved they are.

Sadly, I feel the same.
How many times did we hear about their ”amazing fans”? About ”the incredible and mythical atmosphere” created by them, or how commentators stop for us to hear YWNA?

They will light a candle today for him and next year will sing you know what when he comes and play them.

Said the same earlier in the thread. Guaranteed 100% then they will switch the mics off and you won't hear a pin drop. Cue then a mention of Saturday and us. Yankee red socks clubs in it together
Fuck the pair of them, neither of them miss a chance. You won't see a picture of the flag the red shite used to hang on the M62 96 not enough

The latest I heard is they are going to applaud in the seventh minute as a tribute to CR7

Dead-on there, mate. Spoke to a few mates, some sat and some still trying to get in, and none of them knew of this. Those at home only found out just prior to the game so those just arriving didn’t have a clue.

We do have to respect people dying, like we and many others have anytime we have known. This seemed like it was set-up for Blues to fail and give alternative story to reality. It also puts the team on the back foot as they would’ve thought that everybody was aware.

Indianablue wrote:According to reports I have read, most of the noise and singing was from City fans arriving late to their seats from the concourse area and it was this that triggered the Liverpool fans to boo loudly. This booing then forced Oliver to halt the observed silence. I have also read that the minutes silence was poorly planned in terms of advance warnings etc. Quite ironic that fans arriving late into the ground cause such a castrophy.

I've just watched a vlog of a fan who was there who said the same. It was a small group of pissed up fans making their way up the stairs into the stand and had no idea that the minutes silence had started. They were then told to be quiet by other City fans and it was the Scousers who started booing. He also pointed out something else that has gone unreported. The "Manc scum" banner in their end.

So, basically, those on the concourses had no idea what was going on out on the stands, and were just excited to see the game. If Liverpool fans can use that excuse, then so can we, in fairness.

Sadly, there is not much we can say now.

Our club released a statement as soon as possible, Pep went on with the bandwagon and criticized it saying "this is not who we are" and so on.

They should have waited a bit to see what actually happened, before saying anything. They jumped and believed the red infested media before listening to their own fans.
Tells you a story, if you ask me.

The club did the right thing they knew the dippers were playing politics with the situation and would push for it to be headline news above the atrocities in Ukraine.

Every fanbase has their dickheads and non dickheads but one thing is consistent, Liverpool are always the victims.
