it was a set up and our fans cooperated with the trap to their great discredit and very predictably,

Dead-on there, mate. Spoke to a few mates, some sat and some still trying to get in, and none of them knew of this. Those at home only found out just prior to the game so those just arriving didn’t have a clue.

We do have to respect people dying, like we and many others have anytime we have known. This seemed like it was set-up for Blues to fail and give alternative story to reality. It also puts the team on the back foot as they would’ve thought that everybody was aware.

According to reports I have read, most of the noise and singing was from City fans arriving late to their seats from the concourse area and it was this that triggered the Liverpool fans to boo loudly. This booing then forced Oliver to halt the observed silence. I have also read that the minutes silence was poorly planned in terms of advance warnings etc. Quite ironic that fans arriving late into the ground cause such a castrophy.

I've just watched a vlog of a fan who was there who said the same. It was a small group of pissed up fans making their way up the stairs into the stand and had no idea that the minutes silence had started. They were then told to be quiet by other City fans and it was the Scousers who started booing. He also pointed out something else that has gone unreported. The "Manc scum" banner in their end.

So, basically, those on the concourses had no idea what was going on out on the stands, and were just excited to see the game. If Liverpool fans can use that excuse, then so can we, in fairness.

The club did the right thing they knew the dippers were playing politics with the situation and would push for it to be headline news above the atrocities in Ukraine.
