If we had got Kane or had a younger Kun, we would have the PL wrapped up and would have beaten the Dippers on Saturday.
We will carry this weakness into our remaining PL fixtures. We can cope with everything else, rotation due to injuries, tiredness, etc... but it remains to be seen if we can cope with a lack of clinical finishing.
The club have and are trying to address this chronic weakness - Lukaku then Kane and now Haaland. What Pep is achieving without a proven goal scorer is amazing.

Absolutely, but I can't understand why they didn't push for Alvarez. Don't think money was an issue.
I had the impression that he had to stay until summer to end the season there, but just read that actually the season ends in December, so it's weird.
He might be really shit, but he could have been an option.

How many has he scored for arselona?

He's been the same petulant little shit every time I've seen him.
I'm not upset he went, I just don't understand why didn't we replace him in the winter.
Anyway, going back to last night, I've read that Arnold dodged a red card at 1-0.

I'm still trying to figure out what Maguire was doing for the 3rd and 4th. I'd be amazed if we were genuinely in for him. Terrible defender.
What about the first? Charged up the field and left a massive gap which was fully exposed
And how he plays for England is truly baffling

Agree with most this and I would agree that the lack of a clinical striker has already cost us dearly this season, there are numerous examples where our forward players have fluffed their lines in tandem with us dropping points.
Can we continue to get away with it? Possibly in the league playing our best front 6 without a striker will work, its has worked before. Buts its finely balanced, could go either way. However in the champions league I am less optimistic that we will get away with it, but its not impossible.
I wouldn't have brought Alvarez in early, Pep wouldn't have trusted and played him yet anyway as he most likely will need settling in time and the last thing we wanted to do was rush him and fuck up his head, that would be a disaster for him and us. Look he has Delap there an working with him every day and doesn't play him, no chance Alvarez would be thrown in, none.
Outcast wrote:I don't like the idea rushing and buying any player to fill a gap. We should buy the right replacement, sure it's always a gamble either way, look at the rags, buying names as suppose the right players to fit a system, gladly it's gone horribly wrong for them. We didn't anticipate Torres scenario, it happened, we got the right price and let him go, we move on. We got Alvarez and Haaland coming in the summer, that's worth the wait, theoretically speaking. The vermins are astute in the market, happy to wait for the right player at the right price.

Kane wanted to leave last summer as well. It didn’t suit Spurs.
