Mase wrote:The Glaziers have been used as an excuse for the Rags being shit for years by their fans. It’s bollocks. Everything the Rags have asked for the Glaziers have done. They’ve spent a fuck load, they’ve bought the players the fans want, they brought back Ronaldo - what more do the fans want?
They think new owners will be some miracle

Only if it would make them hurry to re-sign him.

Yeah this is the bit that I really don't get about the rags arguments about the Glazers
The suggestion that Glazers are in the wrong for taking profits out against a backdrop of the biggest 10 year spending spree in history is fucking remarkable. It seems that despite spending over a billion quid in the last 7 or 8 years backing managers, the rag legions are criticising them for not spending even more on transfers.
Why the fuck would anyone have spent more - the only crime I see the glazers have committed is not having developed a clear strategy under a competent director of football to prevent this haemorrage of money every year on the succession of managers.
Sad that it seems it may be coming to an end - lets hope they get some really shite Arab owners after feting them as the 2nd coming.

As you know a bit about that part of the world, what do you reckon are the chances of some Saudi (or other) prince being given the money to buy the club, only to mess it up further through nepotism, dressing room meddling and self-promotion (like I feared was happening with Shinawatra when we signed those Thai players, and like Mancini did on a small scale using our pre-season friendlies as kickabouts for his kids and their mates)? Would someone step in to stop it happening, or would it never even come to pass?

If Stephen Warnock reckons he's past his best so that's good enough for me![]()
