So if a goal can be disallowed because a player is in a goalies nightlife and is deemed to be interfering with play, then why can't Toney?

Of course the commentator may well be incorrect by saying Toney would have been offside had he touched it

Good effort from Gvardiol, he's doing ok. Too much concentration on Toney for their goal. Silva very quiet tonight, Walker usual nose bleeds when he gets a sniff near goal

Toney wouldn't have been offside, Maupay would have been offside from Tony's touch if he had made a touch.
