Absolutely Zuri. You might want to sell sterling but you're not far wrong on this fella.

He could be a true great.

I want to make a case for him being player of the match but Sergio sneaks in ahead obviously.

It says a lot about his performance when a player scores 5 but you don't want to give them best on ground.

the case would be that KDB or Silva either assisted or hockey-assistted all 5 of Serg's goal (I'm pretty sure)..plus KDB got a goal on top of that.

I might be a little too early but I think this fella is going to take over from Nijinsky.

I just love the way he intercepted the play then raced forward to meet the attack and play Kun in for his second goal. Then an absolute defense splitting / bluffing pass for sergio's third.

I wasn't fortunate enough to see Colin Bell play but KDB does seem to have a similar running glide - he is smooth!

Two footed, good motor and an assured passing style, not to mention an eye for a goal. There is also a real variety to his goals so far that indicate that he has many strings to his now. In short, he is a baller!

What will he be like though when he is fully settled into the team and as importantly, once his team mates understand him too?

This fella is going to be the 'crack' signing Pellegrini talked about at the end of the season.

I think everyone is forgetting he was stumped in the first half, but that second half was as good a 45 minutes spell from a City player as I've ever seen.

That 6th goal was unbelievable. He didn't even look, he just put it on a plate. Sergio must be rubbing his hands together. If it's not going to be Dave it will be Kevin.

Me too. He was the player I most wanted us to sign this summer but he's even better than I anticipated. Very intelligent player who's seriously quick to spot an opportunity. I think he's going to be a big hero at our place.

I said this at the game yesterday. I did see Bell play and De Bruyne reminds me of him in the way he gets around the pitch and the shapes he takes when moving the ball around.

He is far better than I realised. Certainly a step up in attacking threat.

Is there a clause in Premier League which prevents women from playing in the league, there is women's league but still.

I wonder how Toni Duggan will do with such a service.

I had no idea what to expect. I'd barely seen the kid. He's fucking awesome. How on earth did Chelsea think he didn't fit what they wanted to do? He and Hazard together would have been amazing to watch.

Could be he just blossomed with the change in Wolfsburg. I dunno. But you'd think a team like Chelsea would be able to evaluate talent on the training pitch and understand how to utilize him. Shameful.

Devils advocate? Could someone say the same about Boateng? I doubt it tho he's got the silverware to argue with me.

Cheers

I don't think Boateng at City is a good comparison with KDB at Chelsea.

The oft quoted query of Messi - "could he hack it on a cold Tuesday in February at the Britannia?" - is possibly more applicable to a defender than an attacker in this country. Of course Messi would be a success - does anyone honestly believe that defenders don't try to rough him in Spain?

What we have seen in recent years at our own club though is a number of foreign defenders come into this league and struggle with the fact the oppo striker is just as likely to tackle them as vice versa.

As such, I think it is harder for defenders to settle in this league than attackers. Boateng is a case in point - he is a great player no doubt but he wasn't what we needed at that time at centre half. In any event, he got plenty of game time whilst he was here and didn't we let him move back for personal reasons as well?

It seems as though Chelsea just didn't rate KDB and/or there was a personality clash with the manager. In view of who the manager in question is, that second possibility makes me warm even more to Our Kev!

We need to start him on the left instead of Sterling, and let him rotate with Silva if needed. We can bamboozle to fucl out of defences. Then bring Sterling on against a tiring and bewildered defence as the coup de grace. Fucl you Premier League.

Far be it from me, to want to piss on the parade, but maybe I could just add a minor word of caution.
I think Kev was sublime in the second half yesterday and i'd agree with all the positive sentiment about him on here.

However. He was a little wasteful with ordinary passes in the first half, as were a few others. Before comparing him with Colin Bell, my childhood hero, I would like to see him take a game by the scruff of the neck when we aren't doing to well.

I thought he got better and better yesterday, as we got better and better. Not the other way around, if that makes sense.
What I mean is, I don't think he was the catalyst to the turnaround. He revelled in it though when we did get on top.

I'm not inferring Navas is a better player, because he's not, but him coming on and Sterling going off, was the start of the turnaround. The change meant both flanks started to really work giving Silva the space to open them up in the middle and Sergio destroyed them.

Kev grew and grew and showed us the full range of what he is capable of. Like some have suggested I'd like to see Sterling rested and let us play that formation with that intensity from the start. Let's see Kev
and Dave Jaysus behind Kun destroy teams in the first 20 mins. Starting with The Rags. ( well... Bournemouth first)

A wise word of caution!

We also shouldn't forget that our attack worked great with Navas and Sterling in the first couple of games. I.E. I think our turn around yesterday has more to do with formation and the inclusion of Navas than on Tintin stepping up his game.
