The one big chance he had was a bad miss. Not a great surprise as he isn't a good finisher. Scores some very good goals but he just isnt a good finisher. Rose should play instead of Dung but I doubt that will happen.

I reckon deep down Southgate is a happy man tonight. Actually got the result he wanted and the performance of basically everyone confirmed what his best 11 is.

Vardy carried the new Pele ? Loftus Cheek would have been better in behind Vardy.

Rashford is a rag squeezed into a squad because he is a rag and a bit part player rag at that. Even the deluded 1 does not know what to make of him, nowhere near the level of Raheem.

Rashford has been totally ruined by Maureen , the lad now lacks confidence and all his attacking instinct has been sapped out of him . Huge shame he was a massive talent 2 years or so ago .

The legacy of Zlatan. Martial and Pele ruined ! kEEP IT UP JOSE OH AND THE CHERRY ON THE CAKE FELLANI IS STAYING ..... MELTOWN FC

I love it when a new nation goes to the semis or even the final. Here's hoping!

Sweden?

There's no way we're going to make it all the way, but I do think we are better then Denmark.
I quite fancy England in the quarter finals, should we make it that far. We have a great record against you guys in competitive games.
We will out-English you with our old-school 4-4-2 with two big lads upfront to hoof long balls to.

Yes, we stand a chance of making it to the semi finals if we beat Switzerland and then get England in the quarter final. But I don't think we'll make it past Switzerland, although I'm not directly known as the most positive Sweden-fan in the world :).

Our biggest problem with England (if we get there) would be your forwards I think. Sterling should be a big problem but he is, as we know, mis-used.

Ssn running with the "rashford came close but England lost in the end".

And then a push for Trent Alexander to start.

England could definitely win this world cup if it wasn't for Alan partridge playing players out of position and the media pushing for inferior players to start ahead of proven winners, just to pander to the masses.

Probably won't see Sergio from the start as he's now the Argie scapegoat even though he opened the scoring for them. With Messi now running the team he will only allow him on if they are really struggling; as per their last game where he came on, drawn 4 players towards him, allowing space for Tomorrow to fire home for a win. And with Danilo out we will be left with Otamendi and possibly Mendy on the pitch.

Although none of them have shown anything special I'd personally I'd plump for France in that game. Think I still harbour some hatred for the Argies, not sure why.

Then Uruguay v Portugal with Bernardo probably on the bench as that's Trannys favourite position and there's no way he gives that up. Hard one to call but I do think it's a game too far for Portugal. They seem to be a organised bunch that rely on that little bit of skill to get them through whereas Uruguay seem to have the tenacity and guile (no biting of course) to beat teams into the ground.

Whichever way it goes, I'll be watching. Yesterday left me twitchy, need my fix.

There was a video from the last game where Messi went over to the bench asking for Aguero to come on, and then a couple of minutes later, Sergio was on the pitch. They're best mates - as Aguero keeps ramming it down everyone's throat on Instagram - so if Messi is picking the team the. Sergio will play.

He has some sort of muscle injury. It doesn't appear to be long term but he won't make it today.
