I totally disagree. He cleared the ball way before. Surely the Ukrainian player has some responsibility not going for a ball he can't reach?

Agreed.

Feel sorry for the guy but he watched his opponent kick the ball clear & stupidly planted his foot right in his path. Horrible to see in slow motion but can’t see anything wrong with what the defender did. Eyes on the ball.

What a cross from Zinchenko - scores one makes one.

Very disappointed. Thought we were the better team. But am pretty sure England would've spanked us anyway.

He got lucky today , starts with 7 defensive players just fuck off , best squad by a mile in the tournament and the wet fucking lettuce goes all defensive??? Easy run in to the final now this fucking fanny Southgate needs to get brave and grow some and play his attacking midfielders which he has in abundance!!!

Agree. He allowed a match that england could and should have won comfortably become a 50/50. First team to score first wins it, in saying that Muller sticks that chance away which 99/100 he does and the germans go onto win and raheem is the villain. Small margins really when in reality england can win that match comfortably without allowing it be a 50/50

100 per cent pal

Don't agree. That is pure BS. Total crap.
England beat Germany 2-0. When was the last time that happened? Using a system Southgate has built and the players understand. Based on not conceeding goals.
Southgate gets the credit.

Change the system and you don't know what could happen. Germany could hit England on the break, score goals and win the match. CL final for example.

Now without doubt Southgate is a plank.
Tonight's result means he is not getting sacked and England are now stuck with a witless manager who will be unable to build a side using a system that exploits their strengths i.e. an abundance of creative, attacking, speedy young players. Meaning England can never reach their true potential as long as Southgate remains.

But credit where it is due. His tactics beat Germany. Could easily win this competition. But long term England are fcuked.

Southgate is one game (against a knackered Ukraine) away from taking England to the semi-final of a third tournament. No England manager has ever done that.

He's the first England manager to win a game beyond a quarter final since Alf Ramsey in 1968.

If he gets to the final (which nobody sane would bet against), it'll be England's first since 1966.

Southgate has taken England from being the kind of team that beats Moldova and San Marino 8-0 and loses to Germany 1-0 to the kind that beats Moldova and San Marino 5-0 and beats Germany 1-0. I'm not saying he's a great manager, but he gets the job done more successfully than anyone that the FA has thrown tens of millions at over the past 20 years.

City and Atalanta have most goals scored by their players (5) from what I read last night

Ronaldo (Juventus) has 5 by himself. Sterling, Torres and Zinchenko together have 6. Maybe 5 is the most goalscorers from a single club.

Edit: I think it is number of players rather than goals. We've got De Bruyne and Laporte on the scoresheets, as well, and that's it.
