LESCOTT

Postby Kiss_The_Goat » Sat Aug 15, 2009 12:49 am

Looks like we're bringing in the big guns to close this mofo:

"Manchester City have ramped up their efforts to prise Joleon Lescott away from Everton.

The Mirror says City have brought in negotiators Kia Joorabchian and Pini Zahavi in an attempt to wield their influence on Toffees chairman Bill Kenwright and Everton's other financial ruler, American-based Robert Earl.

Moyes has rejected defender Lescott's written transfer request and also turned down offers of £15million and £18million from Mark Hughes.

Joorabchian and Zahavi have been involved in some of City’s biggest deals including Carlos Tevez and Robinho.

The new approach for Lescott will set Moyes on a collision course with his bosses if the money-men decide to cash in on their 26-year-old England defender at the start of the Premier League season.

City need Lescott badly and sources close to the player reveal he is confident a deal will happen leaving Moyes with just a fortnight to find a replacement before the transfer window closes."

Moyes is just posturing and wants 20 mill + , so that he can buy at least 2 or maybe 3 top players.

After what Gollum has stated publicly if Kenwright sells Lescott to us Moyes will walk.He will have no other choice after saying onSSN that he is in charge and Lescott will not be sold.

At this point, I would be surprised to see this deal go through. I just want it to be over one way or another though.

I think the money men at Everton want to cash in and so they should. Its good money for him. They can buy a replacement and another player or two for that if they're clever. I think Moyes as been stubborn and with a player who wants to leave and a board who will want to sell, Moyes has not played this one very well and is gonna end up with egg on his face. Sometimes, like it or not, a player wants to leave and regardless of whether you want it or not, it has to happen. Its pointless having an unhappy player and its bad for the dressing room.
We're gonna get our man!

I listened to Moyes on "Toke Spote" Radio and was NOT impressed by him.

His criticism of City was way off beam. We are about to find out if he is truly in charge.
It would seem that he does the negotiating for Everton...bet he also paints the fences, makes the tea, cuts the grass and washes the kits.
Why would Hughes want to phone him? City have specialised people who do that job.
Lecott to us and Moyes to the dole office...Hell be a proper scouser then.

I have not took the time to watch the interview Moyes Did with Sky, and have seen small clippings from news now!!
Did the Gollom one say something about us bidding for Lescot so close to the start of the season as being disruptive, and that the deals should have been done as soon as the season finished out of respect for the clubs, giving them time to find a replacement!
than did he not go one to say something about looking to bring in one or two players!
I have a few problems with Golloms statements!

1st have we not been open about wanting this player for weeks!!
2nd dose this mean that the couple of players he wants to bring in are free agents, as he is obviously holier then Easter, Christmas and Ramadan all rolled up in one, and not want to upset other clubs by disturbing their preparations,
3rd Yakubu The striker switched from Middlesbrough to Merseyside with the 2007/08 season barely two weeks old. (OS)
4th Fellaini signed for Everton in a transfer deadline-beating switch in September 2008. (OS)
5th F/kin Hypocrite

anyway time for breakfast B 4 trip to Blackburn!
Good luck all for the day, wherever on this globe you may be watching the new Dawn!!!

Moyes sounds increasingly hysterical and desperate to me. This is gonna happen isn't it and Gollum will have a face covered in eggs?

Moyes, IN CHARGE???

If nobody at City has bothered to speak to him at any point, as he clearlt states...then who the fuck was it that turned down our previous bids? If it wasn't him that made that refusal on those bids...then...who the fuck is in charge...not Moyes for certain.

Playing for Everton this evening, but a source close to the team reckons he asked not to, citing not being in the right state of mind according to ESPN commentator.

First half was very anxious in defence. We held the ball up better in the second half. The defence looked alot more solid in the second half as well. But I do think we need one more to bolster the defence.
