New keeper

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

New keeper

I don't know if anyone else agrees but I think we're a bit short in the goalkeeping ranks now that Schmeichel has gone. I expected him to be pushing for No. 2 spot and Taylor to be third choice. I'm not convinced about Taylor, he was the No. 3 at Villa. I'd like to bring an experienced second choice on loan until Joe Hart returns. Maybe someone like DIda.

Dida? He's actually injuried like usually does in the last three or four months. I would be glad, as an AC fan, watching him on his way. But nevermore to my beloved City, please!!!

Ask someone more in the know, but I'm pretty sure the club has acquired a small queue of young keepers behind Smikes. Some Scandanavian fella for one. Kasper was never gonna cut it and wasn't much cover anyway IMHO.

I agree - I think Gunnar Nielsen is now the 3rd choice keeper. I really don't think keeper is one of our problem positions at the moment. Given does not have any history as a sicknote...

I think we're fine on the keeper front to be honest, don't really rate Taylor but he's a fair enough back up

I don't think we need a new keeper, there is nowt wrong with Given and also Joe Hart is more than good enough to save a few shots for us in a few years.

Never understand the reason for getting a keeper to sit at home with his wife!!.....seems a waste of money to me, but hey!, each their own I guess.

Couldn't find a more apt thread to post this in, but I also don't reckon it deserves its own topic, but the Times reckons today that Kasper went for 750k.

Couldn't find anywhere more apt to post this, but also don't think it's new-thread-worthy. Times reports today indicate Kasper went for 750k.
