tempted to vote for craig, but seens over 90 minutes, I thought Barry was the most important player.

Barry - should have won it instead of Pedersen - how can anyone (even our central defenders) be considered even close?

SWP grinded it for me with his second assist. Bellamy was close second.

Barry for me.

He looked composed every time he got the ball and used it well. Not wanting to get carried away after one game but I honestly think that he will be a huge player for us this season. Every time I see him he looks class.

Barry, was a great debut.

also Toure had a hard time at the back and coped with everything that was thrown at him, a great game.

Barry. SWP and Toure were my other considerations. a small handful of people to consider which was pleasant.

Two assists, SWP gets my vote.
Barry a close second! Bellamy was a ghost during the first half, but he was quality the second half.

toss up between swp and richards. swp creating 2 goals, and richards stopping at least two.
followed closely by bridge, given, and bellamy.
i didn't think barry had a great game to be honest. better second half than first.

the outstanding performance of the day for me goes to hughes.
i'm a hughes skeptic, but he got it spot on today.
why play a defensive midfielder when the opposition plays long ball?
when the other team doesn't use their midfield, it's best to play an attacking setup.
that being said, we do now have some quality midfielders who can both attack and defend. also down to hughes.
away with a one goal lead, tevez for robinho was a good sub, i thought.

That was actually quite tough to be honest, I thought Given made 3 superb saves that kept us 1-0 up when we were under the cosh from the high ball tactics of Fat Sams army, Toure and Dunne were immense at the back, in dealing with all that was thrown at them and keeping the drive in the team to see it through, let me be the first to actually admit that even today Wayne Bridge was very good, easily his best City game so far, and then you have Bellamy, SWP who worked tirelessly, Ade up top working hard with little service and the chance he did get he buried, but for me it was Gareth Barry, I could see why we chased him today and why Villa spent large parts of last season and the one before that in the top 6, he was superb today, cool, calm and assured very similiar to the nature of Supermans finish, now THAT was cool.
