What would Petrov be worth to Scouse II

Right, forget all the stuff about my opinion on Rupert, BUT, it is being suggested that Petrov could be used as bait for Lescott. Leslie clearly wants Lescott, Everton and Moyes have painted themselves into a corner slightly, and City don't really want to get stitched up for too much more than 18 million.
If we were to say that Petrov could go as part of the deal, I suggest that we tell Scouse II that we value him at a price that allows us and them to claim some kind of positive out of the deal.
If for example we paid 12million and Petrov, they could claim they got their 22million sniffs. We would have got our man for less than we bid, but used very much a fringe player to balance the deal. Everton and Moyes can declare that they're delighted, Petrov can have his first team football, we get the centre/left back we want.

So I say value Petrov at 10 million.
Any other suggestions?
Would this tempt Ginger Pubes?

I'm not for one minute suggesting that he is worth 10 million. But merely musing on a way to get this Lescott thing done with everybody saving face. At his age, with another serious injury clocked up, I'd have thought 3 million would be closer to the mark.

Considering we signed him for 4.7 sniffs id go 3.5 million.

For me id let Petrov go in the deal and sign a replacement.

That was then this is now...the market is considerably inflated at the moment...who the hell can you get for 3 mil these days?

I've wanted us to sign lescott all summer. More than Toure, more than Terry. However I do sort of lean towards Crossie's view of leaving it for now.
On the other hand, I'd hate to ruin the ship for an ha'p'worth of tar.

What would Moyes do with Petrov anyway? He doesn't tackle & can't head the ball. What else do Everton players do?

I don't think it will be Petrov anyway...it will be Dunne or TBH...Moyes needs a like for like defensive swap.

TBH would be ideal for Everton, he epitomises everything about them.

that would not be cruel ted, merely the truth.

for the record, the only problem i would have with this swap deal is who would we have on the left other than robson?

Well Bellamy was outstanding there v Blackburn at the end & Weiss can play on the left but if we sell Petrov now we'll be doing so without ever seeing the possibilities of him linking up with RSC. Imo that could be a changeover in a game which would be like facing a completely different set of problems to an oppo defence. For all the talent we've got, we're still not doing crosses very well. Petrov does.

Petrov has never in his City career had a top quality aerial striker to aim at. RSC is one of the world's best at getting on the end of crosses. Please lets see them play together before we make any decisions.

I want us to do no business with that club. How dare they not sell us Lescott at a reasonable price.
