By the way how long do u think we'll have the current crop of shirts. I hope the home shirt is for at least 2 seasons. No doubt the 2 away shits will be around for just this season tho

Sorry to burst ur bubble Dave, but this years kits are only for this season as far as i know.

I wonder how much persuasion it took to get Etihad to agree to their logo being reduced to allow the stripes!!

will need to either lose my belly or buy a couple of sizes up as diagonal stripes on a white canvas will make the belly stick out waaaaaaayyyyyyy more than normal. Where's my Gym card?

It isnt a very good pic and it doesnt really do the shirt much justice but I think it will look spot on in the flesh. Will be gettin this for sure!!

Will it be bloody limited edition though!!?? Hope not .i never understand why they do that. The limited one we had a couple of seasons ago(white with sky blue) would have sold ten fold if they had made enough.

I've made it a goal in my life to get my hands on this kit. Missed out on the last limited edition kit (white with sky blue sash) and I still regret it. I NEED this shirt in my life!

I am going to have this in long and short sleeves......I am going to have a toss wearing it when I first get it

I've not wanted a kit this much.....EVER

Also, to the question of how hard it was to persuade Etihad to move the sponsor logo have a look on Umbro's blog. The answer is not at all difficult apparently, they completely bought into the design of the shirt having primary importance (it also makes them look pretty cool for agreeing to it IMO....thought leadership) and all that

Not big into kits, but this one is a thing of beauty. I may well be forced to rush out and buy one for the first time in a long time
This season's home shirt is the best in years, but you can keep the black one. Black is just not City.

Last year's orange effort was hideous and how did they manage to fuck up a classic red and black striped effort so completely?

This is a retro based on the away kit Allison gave us in around 1970/71 surely isn't it? There was also a dark blue one with white and red stripe for colour clashes, hardly ever worn.

Kit didn't really suit us at all then, but I guess it's OK as a third kit.

I remember I had one with long sleeves at junior school, and the material they were made of meant that when it rained your sleeves ended up near your ankles. Happy days.

EDIT - original stripey kit was white with blue and red stripes, not black and red.

Is it true that the red and black stripes came about because of something to do with AC Milan?
