Wouldn't mind it being on loan, give him a year somewhere else to see how it does.

Was always great going forward but I thought he showed real defensive improvement at the start of last season

Another example of how we must change our mindset, he isnt ever going to be good enough, much as we would all like to see him pull through, it wont be enough, time to go.

I love an underdog! Right up until the day Samaras left I was still hoping he'd do the business for us :)

Looked good when he first turned up, good on the ball, Unfortunately he's a liability at the back and doesn't really seem to have improved enough in his time here. "I'll drive him there myself"!

I think that's right, we've been down for so long we're still grateful when players come and play for us and if they don't work out we always hope they'll pull through, maybe it's time to be more hard headed... sigh...

We're not exactly well off in the left-back department! I'd prefer to keep him at least until we have brought somebody else in.

If lescott comes in he can cover left back, plus can none of our youngsters play left back?

Ryan McGivern is a left back

I'm happy with if it's true that were planing on using McGivern as back up to Bridge. Good too see that acadamy boys are still getting chances and i'm sure that McGivern and Garrido will be at a similar level now anyway.

Well he's not going to come back haunt us. Decent player but defensively not even nearly good enough.

Probably good news for young McGivern then.

If this has been leaked from City then it means Worf's on his way here.

He cost us all of 1.5million quid so I think that even with his limited use we've had some good use out of Javi. He's been a good pro and not whined about lack of action...nor is he explicitly agitating for a move. Hope that City will let him go free and maximise his deal at his new club

Certainly not one of the more economically unwise transfer moves by Svennis. There's only Elano to date that we've taken a (6 million quid) bath on when we sold him (but it's still to be seen what our final position will be on messrs Bojinov, Caicedo and Benjani.....we could be taking some hits on those lads).

Petrov only cost us 4.7m so even if we use him as a makeweight for Lescott/sell to Spurs for 3m or so we've done ok.

Corluka we made a small profit on, Gelson lost a couple of million, Bianchi a few million and obviously Geovanni was a freebie.

Not actually as bad as I thought it would be once I had a look....and obviously, it's small change to HRH.

Nils Zander is supposed to be some sort of wonderkid leftback.
