With Weiss how about we....

-Stop putting expectations on him of monumental proportions.
-Overhype him so he believes he is god's gift to the world of football.

And we might end up with a decent footballer.

Nobodies doing that...he just had a fantastic game so the praise and comparisons are bound to be heaped on him

Saying that...after Johnson got compared to Colin Bell in the MEN it was the kiss of death!

The expectation is that he becomes a top quality player, as it is with all the academy players who want to get in our 1st team. If they don't share that expectation or can't handle the pressure of it they're absolutely no use to us whatsoever. Whatsmore they have to reach that standard pretty sharpish or they're out the door. That's the reality now, we're no longer a production line for Ishmael Millers. These lads have got to step up to the plate or we'll find someone who can. Weiss is doing that.

According to the OS, 97,000 people in the UK were taking that stream last night. Perhaps we do need to start work on extending the ground capacity.

Sounds sensible to me. The best aspect last night by a long way was the work he put in defensively. Bound to have impressed the management.

Not sure where they got either figure from, but if they managed to confirm 25,000 individual feeds, they may have estimated 4 people watching each feed. Sounds dubious to me, but I suspect it's what they do with TV viewing figures. Impressive either way considering how late it was on.

How bad was that commentator, by the way? He kept asking questions and I thought there must be a summariser with him who'd dozed off and then realised he was asking me.

That was something I never thought I would have ever witnessed live, to be at the Nou Camp the day that Man City went there and beat them, and also kept quiet a side who had scored over 150 goals in the whole of last season.

They did want to win it, you could tell that with the players they selected, whereas in the other pre-season games they had chosen 9+ kids to play with the odd experienced pro, this time it was 6 regular starters each half (Yaya, Puyol, Maxwell (signed from Inter this season as LB to challenge Abidal), Bojan, Sergio Busquets and Gudjohnson have all featured, then Dani Alves, Messi, Ibra, Keita, Jonathan and Pique all entered the fray in the next half, that game meant something to Barcelona the team and more so their fans, sitting in the middle of them you could tell what it meant, the City section, though only small in the land of the gods, was superb throughout.
