We are on the verge of signing a Scouser...

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

We are on the verge of signing a Scouser...

Uniturd - Have lost the much desired Carlos Tevez to us despite their pathetic Sign Him Up campaigns.

Chelsea - Have to pay over the odds on a new contract for JT as we have increased his valuation beyond their desired means, draining funds from the pot for strengthening the team on established players instead.

Arsenal - Have lost two regular first teamers to us and have no money to replace them given their rather large bill from the builder for the construction of their new library.

Villa - Have sold their most important player to us and made their best signing a guy on crutches.

Everton - Have lost the dressing room because the manager has showed the players no personal respect, they all know he will be stubborn and sacrifice them furthering their own career if it means he gets 5th PL spot instead of 6th - (from a certain point of view)

Liverfool - are the only club left... If you're still there tomorrow Rafa we'll send an Eastlands cab round with the cash.

Chelsea, Arsenal & Spuds are looking good & Scousers had a morale boosting home win. Our job, imo, if we can't blaze a PL trail & leave 'em behind, is to still be in touching distance with these people come March-April. If we click, it won't be a problem but if we don't, we have to dig in & fight for every point, to not let these characters get too far away from us.

If we can stick with these clubs, sooner or later our players will produce special football, it will happen;they're quality. Then with our squad we've got a really great chance of a fantastic finish to the season.

The 'big four' have not been the top four for no reason for all these years. Each one of them will be very hard to depose from the CL spots.

Everton do not have the funds to compete with us this season and if you look at them under Moyes you will see they have one good year one bad year, this year is their bad year.

Villa have won only 2 games in their last 14 including the end of last season and their fans are already booing them off, can't see then sustaining a challenge.

fulhams squad is too small to cope with the rigours of the Europa League & The Premier League.

Spurs are the team i fear will do very well this season and challenge us for the 5th place spot and if one of us can mount an incredible run of wins then one of us may sneak into 4th, possibly.

Everton finished 5th, 5th and 6th in the last three years, which one of them was the "bad year"?

Effectively we have signed a 'scouser' in the signing of Barry ie. bolloxing up their plans to buy him themselves!

And with them selling Alonso they too are weaker this season.

As far as I can see we are the only premiership team in the top half who has seriously strengthened?

02/03: 7th

03/04: 17th (Avoided relegation on the last day)

05/06: 11th

Pretty bad seasons imo. He's due another, they've been punching above their weight for the last 3 years.

Pardon the pun, but you're fishing there. If 17th is considered their bad year, then 11th is a good year and the three following it cannot be considered poor. They are not hitting above their weight, they are top 6 on merit.
