Fake shirt spotting abroad

Postby lincoln blue » Fri Aug 21, 2009 9:57 am

Something I always look out for, as do friends - really bad fake shirts for sale abroad (usually holiday hotspots)
Not to buy of course
But is this a sign that the teams are big teams
Anyone seen any new really bad fake city shirts - looked whilst in middle east recently and couldn't see any - just the usual so called big 4, aswell as Barcelona, Milan and Brazil Argentina
Saw a half decent fake Liverpool shirt in venice once until you looked on the back Macmanamaman (only just fitted on the back)
Call em in if you see them

Saw almost nothing but fake shirts in Malaysia, Petaling Street Market is awash with them. Didn't see any fake replica kits for City though (all the bog 4 were present) just a couple of dodgy fake official T-Shirts

Seen a shop in Turkey selling fake City tops, i pointed out to the shop keeper that the blue shirts in the window have a city crest on them but had the word 'Manchester U/@+*D round it. Didn't seem to be selling many that week.

yep. in the Florida Mall in Orlando. So fake you could hardly believe it...with "free shorts" when you buy the top for about USD$50.

cheers

Just come back from Turkey this morning and on a visit to a local market to which I wore the new home shirt there were some very odd looking City shirts however one stalls owner had the home shirt on complete with prem badges etc and he was selling a very good good replica of it? Sadly about fifty yards up some muppett shouted to me "hey Newcastle no premier anymore!" Even on close attention to the shirt had no clue who it was then tried flogging me a Chelsea shirt!

Saw one in Turkey 5 or 6 weeks ago,a replica of the home shirt, however it was the same shirt design that was posted on various fan site's before the official launch,it had the piping down either side of the front, and white and burgundy on the upper arms.
It didn't look bad to be honest, just not accurate :)

I saw a rag shirt in a shop in tenerife a few years ago, the colours were off, the design was wrong and it had a liverpool badge on it.

A few days later it had been sold! Thick twats!!
