Has anyone done it before at the ground or can you only do it over the phone?

You need to do it by phone in advance, and can only do it for 1 saturday game in a season and not for the derby either.

So i can't go and do it before the game tommorrow? Seems a bit strange as the club will lose £30.

I'd give them a call in the morning before just pitching up at the ground - as for the club losing £30, I'm not sure but at a guess I'd say money is no longer any sort of concern at City these days!
I sit in the family stand and if your kid seats in there you always have to do it in advance of the game. If you are sat elsewhere they may be more lenient, but I wouldn't rely on it as its City ticket office so not the most smooth running thing in the world.

I hope Chris Nield isn't reading this but .....
Loads of people go in with child tickets and no one ever gets stopped.
I have two adults and two kids and we just dole the seasoncards out and often have each others (i.e I go in on the kids card and they go in on my adult card) and no one ever says a dickie bird.
Really, you should just be able to go up to the ticket office and pay an upgrade fee like you used to be able to do at Maine Road.
Sometimes you have to cancel one of the kids on the morning of the match and the only replacement you can find is another adult. Under the current system, you wouldn't be able to take someone in (in theory) and the seat would be empty ..... it's stupid.

Is this a new thing this season. Cos I`ve been upgrading for 2 seasons now and the only stipulation I am aware of is you can`t do it on the day off the match.
