Adebayor

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Adebayor

Postby Patrick » Sat Aug 22, 2009 4:03 pm

Thank Fucl - got to say I thought he was the weakest of our signings - but so far he has been the pick of the crop - including barry

I hope we keep him happy - he is worth 20 points to us this season - he is better than most mids at distribution and better than most forwards at scoring

Big up me Ade but change your daft nickname

I was delighted when we signed him and I'm even more delighted now.

Best striker in the Premiership.

Looks a shrewd but by Hughes.
Just hope he is not as disruptive as the Arsenal players said he was.
I think, personally it is paper shit though.
Great signing.

I think Toure's running him a close second though (along with Barry obviously)

Thought he was unreal today apart from the missed chance. His chest control, hold up play and distribution are superb.

Ive just taken a look at the Beeb's scorer's chart and he's third with his two goals (admitedly on account of his surname though)

He's been great so far but i remember thinking to myself that Garrido was the next Paulo Maldini after 2 games for us so first impressions dont always tell the full story. We shall see

I think he's gonna be our top striker this season and he really shows the fans exactly why Bellamy is only good for a short term signing.

Was happy when he joined, now I'm absolutley delighted... Very very impressive yet again and once the understanding between the players begins to establish, it could be a very scary prospect for opposition teams.

Adebayors history in the prem tells us he will score goals, those players are a rare quality at the top top level and we have a gem on our hands with the next 4-5 prime years of his career ahead. As I said to an arsenal fan mate of mine, if they think he's shit I'd wuite happily have that kind of "shit" player in my team any day of the week. He oozes class and has a great first touch - we are only beginning to appreciate how lucky we are to have him.

Scored only 3 less goals then Torres in the last 2 years.

He was my favorite signing when it happened and I got questioned when I said I preferred him to Eto'o.

Adebayor is fucking awesome and will get better and better.

after watching him now over preseason and now our first two games. i just cannot see why arsenal fans hated him so much.

arsenal fans said this when we signed him. apparently adebayor was;

a. lazy
b. offside all the time
c. a bad finisher
d. had a bad attitude
e. was a bad influence on the team

so far in response to them i would say;

a. he's probably the hardest working striker i've seen at city for some years.
b. barely offside. 90% of his runs have been timed perfectly.
c. 2 in 2. i'll say no more.
d. all smiles, works for the team, loves the fans. can't fault the guy.
e. if he's a bad influence it doesn't show, the team is performing brilliantly.

all in all, i hope he stays at city for the rest of his career. neck on the block here, i'd go as far as saying he is THE best striker i've seen in city colours. We have an absolute gem of a player in him. keep it up ade.

I honestly think that he can score 30 goals again even with the ACON, I mean let's be honest playing with Robinho, Tevez, Superman, SWP and Barry he is going to get chance after chance after chance...

Very smart move by the club getting Ade in and I think having fans who are behind him 100% has lifted him big time.

How can Bellemy be a short term signing when he has nearly 4 years yet to run on his contract?

Looks great, but it is WAY too early. I remember thinking Elano was the second coming after a few games too.
I will say that I always thought he was quality, and couldn't understand the reputation he was getting from Arsenal fans.

One more thing I'd add BB, for a lad who's 6ft 3" he is pretty fucklin quick as well. Cant remember which Wolves player showed him the line yesterday, so he knocked it past him and beat him to the ball. Not many CF's have the speed to do that!
