This is where the squad rotation thing comes into play. If we want him to be as sharp & keep putting in as much work each game he plays, then we have to keep him fit & hungry by resting him regularly because there's no way he's going to charge around the pitch like that for 40 odd games.

Great signing. Arsenal fans are full of shit.

all this "its early, we'll see" stuff with Ade is daft.
that only really applies to someone who is either having an unusual run of good form, or has come from abroad. Ade is neither, what we are seeing is Emmanuel Adebayor, playing well. I don't even think we've seen the best of him yet.....

do even you really believe half the shit you post? baffling. the above post is about as sensible as comparing a chicken sandwich to a boner.

cheers

What else is in the sandwich?

I just meant it is too early to tell if Arsenal fans are full of shit or not.
Well, on this subject anyway.

Why? We've seen him playing for Arsenal as well, for several years, taking us to the cleaners & scoring regularly even during an injury plagued spell. They took offense at him, rightly or wrongly, for non football reasons & are now claiming he wasn't good enough, which is complete bullshit; he was their best striker.

[quote="Blue Blood"]after watching him now over preseason and now our first two games. i just cannot see why arsenal fans hated him so much.

arsenal fans said this when we signed him. apparently adebayor was;

a. lazy
b. offside all the time
c. a bad finisher
d. had a bad attitude
e. was a bad influence on the team

so far in response to them i would say;

a. he's probably the hardest working striker i've seen at city for some years.
b. barely offside. 90% of his runs have been timed perfectly.
c. 2 in 2. i'll say no more.
d. all smiles, works for the team, loves the fans. can't fault the guy.
e. if he's a bad influence it doesn't show, the team is performing brilliantly.

all in all, i hope he stays at city for the rest of his career. neck on the block here, i'd go as far as saying he is THE best striker i've seen in city colours[b]. We have an absolute gem of a player in him. keep it up ade

you must be a young un, lee,law,young and francis, but lets hope he can keep it up. hope he gets 20 gls for us and plenty of points. one of the best plays by him yesterday, was when he was on his own near the touchline, he pushed the ball past a wolves player, then went past him, so he has got some speed aswell.

Trevor Francis was commentating on City for Sky yesterday, said one of the Gallagher gnomes mentioned to him about being at his debut (Stoke away). What a fucking debut THAT was! First touch of the ball, skinned two players & smashed the ball into the net at our end. That season for City; he was as good as Henry at his best.

Can't be many City strikers in the last 50 years who've had a better 1st two games than Ade though.

I agree. He's much better than Mark Lillis

Very impressed so far. Like some have posted, I wasn't that fussed when we signed him but now he may prove to be the best one. And I didn't realise until seeing him in the flesh yesterday just how f%&*ing tall he is!
