Lionel wrote:This match is a reflection of what our home season is going to be like agiants the likes of Wolves, Burnley, Blackburn, Stoke, Fulham, Portsmouth, West Ham, and Birmingham. These sides will come to City basically for a nil-nil draw and will defend deep. We have to now play like how every top four side plays and we are presented with the same problems they are, that is breaking teams down at a level we are not used to.
Wolves offered nothing until we scored, nor were they likely to. As we play these teams, the longer the first goal takes, the more frustrated we will become and could even end up losing games due to not being experienced in this type of football.
Todays second half, Hughes should have brought De Jong far earlier than he did for Robinho, Tevez being brought off was the correct move considering his lack of game time.
Our second half will be a great learning curve, this team is far from gelled with 6 of the starters having joined the club since January.
