Moyes wanted to keep him but hasn't appreciated it from the players point of view. JL wants to play for a bigger club, he stands more chance of winning something and improving his chances of staying in the England side for next years World Cup.
In a nutshell we've gone about it in the right way, unsettled their club and left Moyes with just over a week to get someone else in. He's known that JL was going as he's been looking at defenders himself - I say "give" them Jo aswell he'll do more harm than good!
It's the Everton board doing exactly the same as they did with Rooney. They're going through this whole dance to ensure that they don't have time to spend the money. They'll have lined up a sale, but only for a fraction of the money received.
Why on earth would we want to delay the transfer, the season has already started! That would be cutting off our nose to spite our face. The sooner we can him the better.
