Had a quick scan and couldn't see this anywhere. Anyone else read that we've tied up a £2M deal for Silvinho from Barca (ex Arsenal)? Would be a very good squad player I think, more than competent cover for WB.

It appeared in the News Of the World this morning.... at the end of their Lescott coverage...

Perhaps he has been bought as the new token Brazilian to befriend Robinho.... i.e. the new Glauber Berti ??

I think he's looked great when I've seen him for Barca. Was surprised to find out how old he is as he seemed really sharp.

On a one year deal would be a very shrewd bit of business

Agreed quality full back, imangine the link up down the left between him and Robson when he's filling in for Bridge.

Didn't seem to have too many problems coping with the rags.

He's no Glauber, that's for sure. Pretty decent player mate.

These Brazilian full-backs seem to keep playing forever, Cafu was still playing for Milan in his late 30s until about a year ago.

You really need to buy a pair of glasses no? Where in my post does it say that? He said we had a left back from Spain that's all he said to me and this was before the papers. Whatever though you just keep trying mate and of course failing..

To be fair to Vhero the paper also reported it as a 2m fee....

I agree that this is confusing though, because in the CL final they kept commenting that he was out of contract in the summer...

The second Michael Tarnat, ie too old. He's 35 so at that age I'm not too sure how he will cope again with the physicality or speed of the prem. We must have a vacancy in the token Brazilian department to keep Robinho company.

I think he is use to partner with Robinho after the departure of Elano and Berti ??

to be fair, unlike Tarnat he'd be there as an emergency cover in position where we don't really have any highly promising youngsters coming through. If he also manages to keep Robbie happy, he will be worth every penny.
