Falling to millions of pieces in Anfield against Villa.

Now what was that Phil Thompson was saying about it being top three of Liverpool, Chelsea and rags again?
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Thought the second goal was particularly funny. One minute added on, the ball goes out for a corner after 40 seconds of added time and Reina proceeds to twat the ball as far down field as he can to waste time. Villa finally get the ball back and score about 1 minute 40 seconds into added time.

Benitez then goes sick at the fourth official that they had played too long. Well maybe if your keeper hadn't blatantly cheated then it wouldn't have been over the time you fat, goatee wearing, table waiting mother fucker.

We're coming to get you Rafa.

Cant whatch tonights match but what I have seen of them this season is that thier midfield looks lightweight.

Looking forward to playing them to be honnest - If we're 2-0 up at half time though I'll be shitting myself ;-)

i dont get villa buying downing. What are they going to do with young if downing gets the nod? what are they going to do with downing if young gets it? both are fighting for the exact same england spot, neither is going to be happy at this. Even if downing is injured until november or whenever. O'neill has been playing FM i think.

He's a great striker but torres has to be one of the whiniest players I've ever seen! Moans about every fkin single decision!

The whole team just looked like they lacked creativity/confidence! They never tried pressing the issue, they seemed quite content to play square balls across the park, rather than trying to drive it!

I didn't see the match but it sounds like they're missing Alonso greatly. Pretty foolish of Benitez to try to sell him last summer when they were after Barry, he only has himself to blame that they don't have either now.

Liverpool really missed Alonso. Whilst not always the most noticeable player he often let the Gerrards & Kuyts get forward more by picking the ball up for them. Both Benayoun & Lucas combined couldn't step up to the effectiveness of your average Alonso performance tonight. Villa weren't great but took their chances brilliantly. Was also v. impressed with the ref.

Aquilani has some big boots to fill. I'm pretty certain he's not up to it.

They look at least as vulnerable at the back as we do, probably more & have nowhere near our attacking options. Gerrard & Torres take some stopping though, they're constantly creating angles & problems. Great players. Can't see those two being available all season though.

Incidentally; I've decided Torres is a horrible cheating tosser who is chucking himself over more than Ronaldo & I hope we're successful without ever having to sign him.

if we play to our full potential and spuds keep thier current form up, i can envisage both scousepool and arse dropping out of the top 4. A couple of injuries to the arse and they will struggle - the same goes for scouse1. Fingers crossed!

Absolutely, this might be a knee-jerk reaction but surely Liverpool more than Arsenal are seemingly vulnerable to finishing out of the top 4 this season what with their financial concerns and lack of squad depth.
