Has anyone shown any interest in the grinning fool?

I'm seriously getting worried he is still going to be here when the window shuts!

unsurprisingly....no, not much

He'll go somewhere though I'm sure, even if it's just on loan (...although apparently he's big mates with Adebayor so Emmanuel says. Maybe he'll be the Berti to Ade as Sylvinho will to Robson). More than happy for him to stay just so he can accompany Ade to the African equivalent of Bem Brasil!)

Another Sven masterstroke signing that really needs to be shown the door.

I suppose the problem is - who's gonna pay him what we're paying him? Remember we doubled his wages from his Pompey days - could be a stumbling block!

I suspect he is, not unusually, injured and therefore unable to participate in the summer merry-go-round, unless Villa want him as they do sign players with broken legs and stuff.

He'll start on Thursday, bag a hat-trick and start against Arsenal as well.

Wouldn't worry too much, he isn't even making the "squad lists" to go to these games, he is doing what he is useful at, smiling at training and shopping on weekends.

Be honest though IBH, would you seriously EXPECT someone to be interested in this waste???......I think we would have to do what we have with the other flop (Jo) and pay his wages at his new club and perhaps even pay someone money to take him.

I was hoping Portsmouth might take him back to be honest!!

I might fancy an outside bet of Benjani back to Pompey on loan done on transfer deadline day.

I also have a gut feeling the following may exit on Deadline Day.... TBH (loan), Garrido (Spain), Petrov (Spurs), Dunne (Villa).

With our policy of recruiting players from our rivals, wouldn't this be a monstrous step backwards?

I can see why people don't rate Benjani as he's nowhere near good enough for where we're going but what has he done to deserve the nasty kind of shit that he's getting other than score at OT & try really hard to do his best for the team whenever he's played?

Imo he's been unlucky in that he's never been fit since Sven signed him & now he's been left behind by developments at the club. Hope he gets fit & finds a new club but it looks to me as if his career may be over as he breaks down as soon as he gets a game.

It would be I agree, but if those clubs came calling I reckon the players would force the transfer through. We can't have it both ways.

Wise words from Ted there.

if no one wants him and he's a good locker room presence (and all reports are that he's not a moaner), i wouldn't mind it if he stayed around and rode the coattails to some silverware.

now Ben Haim, get him out ASAP - he's going to injure all of our top players in training.

Phil Brown is making his way down his list of strikers. Number 72 and 73 rejected him yesterday, 74 and 75 will say no today - I understand Benjani is number 85 on his list - just ahead of Barry Conlon - so expect something to happen towards the end of the week.
