Another young star, true to Khaldoon and Hughes's words, they said about buying players for the now (which they have done and continue to do with the imminent arrival of Lescott), and still looking at snapping up future talents, and this lad is obviously one that has caught the eye, of not only Hughes but also the academy scouts as such, as they will be telling the manager the difference between him and those his age already at City.

I still hold out hope that we will sign a creative spark in the middle before deadline day, as that is something we do not yet have, or get an out and out left winger (if Petrov still wishes to move away) then move Robinho into the middle, he will be a creative spark we need.....players like Javi Martinez, Mesut Ozil, Sebastian Sessagnon, Wesley Sniejder (though I think he is on his way to Inter), Rafa van der Vaart, David Silva, Franck Ribery, Ashley Young, or players of their ilk.

Well, we don't play an AM, so that's kinda pointless isn't it?

it all translates to ..

Aleksic in Manchester City

port TV "channel Sauce" tonight is the right media launched a bomb by announcing that Daniel Aleksic left the ranks of Vojvodina in order to transfer to Manchester City.

The news also stated that Daniel put England starts today, where you need to perform medical examinations.

That something "big" is preparing, it was clear fans of Vojvodina during the second leg even match between Austria and Vojvodina, when Aleksic "has not received" the Austrian visa. Many have suspected then that the real reason for his neigranja just that since his club is seriously on account of his services in international competitions.

For now, the media on the island does not appear anything about this transfer, and fans of Vojvodina remains only with dread to monitor developments.

I don't know a lot of him but I'm trusting the club's judgement on him. Anyway I agree that the strategy of snapping up players for now and talents for the future is what is going to work.

Another part of the masterplan is snatching someone from what up until now has been pure SCUM scouting territory, the Balkans.

can we please set up acadamies in the following places Mr Sheik;

Eastern Europe
Spain / Portugal
Brazil
Argentina
USA
Africa
and obviously the one in Abu Dhabi

that way the quality youngsters will come to us, and if they really are that good we can just 'promote' them to the UK acadamy.

The more I think about our proposed Academy network, the more sense it actually makes as a business in its own right (as well as as a talent conveyor belt for the club itself). If we are hoovering up the most talented 12-16 year olds then we are pretty likely to bag the next Messi, Robinho, Rooney, Ronaldo....as well as other quality players.

Those who don't make our grade we'll be able to sell to other clubs. Similar kind of idea to Glenn Hoddle's academy in lots of ways in that the running costs of the Academies you would aim to cover (in whole or part) from fees you get from developing youngsters who you then sell on (either internally or externally....although obv the internal "sale" is just mopped up in the funding from the owners).

If we end up with quite a few of these then it will not only promote the club but should potentially end up paying for itself in the end

SSN say he's here on a weeks trial

Ant, that business model has certainly worked for us so far. In fact SWP had pretty much paid for the academy on his own, even after coming back. In the 11 years that the academy has been going we have hoovered up something like £10m in fees over and above the net £11m that Shaunie brought in which more than covers the running costs of the academy in that time.
