£6m, I would snap their hands off.......then again why should we not fleece someone else for a proven player, tell them £12m is the minimum fee required, and that is about £8m too much.

They gave us the best deal of the Summer and it was their best player. If anyone's getting fleeced it should be that whinging zombie from Scouse2.

Gary Hughes: What subterfuge, He's our captain the same minute he goes to Villa.
It sounds like something in a bad baseball comedy.

"You've been traded."

"To what team?"

"They're back east."

"Detroit? You know I hate cold weather."

"No. A little farther ..... Tokyo!"

A litle sad to see him go but £6m is to much to turn down. He will still get a big thanks for all the work from me.

I was expecting this. I can see why MH would let him go as well. Dunne have performed for City for a number of years, shown his loyalty. Time to reward him back, and is there a better move for Dunne than going to Villa? I guess not. We have Nedum et al covering for Toure and Lescott.

Why are people talking about the (reported) fee like it means anything??

It seems that when we are buying a player people don't care what he costs but when we are selling our captain and 4 times Player Of The Year we should do it because it's good money!?

Well the majority of Villa fans seem keen on the idea

Read it as well, quotes like "Whoever gets Dunne, gets the bargain of the season" etc. Yeah why not, Dunne might be reborn with a new team.

I'm not surprised. It's our loss.

He has played very well so far at this early stage of the season so it would definately be a bargain - he deserves to get regular first team football and sadly that means with another club.

Half of them seem to think that Distin and even Zat bloody Knight are much better players!

Thanks Dunnie,

You've been, and always will be, a City legend.

I am sickened to hear that anybody would snap any team's hands off for losing arguably the best center back to wear sky blue in the last 30 years. He has been a perfect example of commitment, leadership and heart. The amount of strong clearances and last ditch tackles that he has put in to save us so many times I am too young to have seen us lift a trophy that truly matters (and i'm 33?!?!?!!?)
I am thankful and grateful for Dunnie playing as one of us. If he does leave I for one will be sad to see him go. A TRUE LEGEND.

Sad to see him go, he'd be agood back-up for Toure and Lescott. But thinking about it, Nedum should really be ahead of him (and Lescott as a matter of fact) in the pecking order so he wouldn't be getting much first-team football with us. He deserves that, so let him go, you'll never be forgotten Dunnie. Great game-saving challenges followed by game-losing clangers and own goals, never has 1 player epitomised City so well come to think of it!

Personally , I hope Dunne turns the offer down and decides to stay. Competition for places is very important. Good players as they clearly are , Toure, Lescott and still in my opinion Bridge need to prove themselves to the City fans.Even Barry (albeit we are seeing him play well). It's early days yet and I think that it would be foolhardy to let players like Dunne go knowing that January means the loss of two players. The past is gone and over and can't be changed. However, every season , every player needs to prove himself or he is out of the starting eleven.
