Imagine that Sven inherited that crop (of shite) and got us 9th. Magnificent job.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Honestly WHERE?
Everyone says "enough of the negativity, have a look at this" I am finding this place nothing but positive at the moment...is it just a witty precursor to you starting a thread or are you hoping for immediate support for a thread you created from the rahrah cheers boys?
Everyone is being positive except crossan who is typically having a moan but not really being negative. How about, "how we've changed, look at this" if you want some other crap way to start a thread, at least it's better than creating imaginary villains for you to crucify, that's what David Fucking Moyes does, are you David Fucking Moyes? Don Quixote aint got nothing on you two.

Come on Slim...If I could even be arsed trawling through a few threads...which I can't by the way...i'd find far more that Crosson having a moan about something or other...It seems that City attract more than their fair share of doom mongers even in such vibrant times as these!

You could pick most squads over the last 25 years!
The doomers are definitely re-grouping, coming out of the swamps and forming a new strategy to deal with our sudden wealth!!!!!
Most of us were optimistic even when we started with squads like that!

Bah, not worth making a thread over if there are, but I would miss crossan if he weren't moaning, it's like an old warm blanket.
This is fucking magic times, like LAHAD said, this is our reward for staying loyal through all the shit.

Embarrassingly, you're absolutely spot on with that John
I started every single season in the top flight thinking that we had a good chance of a cup win or maybe getting into the European spots...everytime we were relegated I was convinced we'd romp back to the Prem/First Division as league winners (despite ALL evidence absolutely contradicting this wild baseless optimism!) haha

Didn't a large crop of that shite finish 8th after SP took over from KK though?

Not really. We had James, Bosvelt, SWP, Fowler and Anelka that season.

I don't have any problems looking at that squad. It's all part of our history.
You enjoy evolution more when you are familiar with what you have evolved from and this is a fine example.
Also, it would be more interesting to compare that squad with the one from five year previous, as I am sure that in comparison we would claim this 2006-7 squad as 'world beaters'!
Now .... what will be even more interesting ..... is reviving this post in five years time and I would bet that we will be reacting similarly when comparing our current squad to what we will have in five years time.
The time to worry is when we agree that our previous squads were better than what we have at the moment. Hopefully, this is something I doubt we will be doing for a long time yet to come.
Relax ... It's only a message board in hyperspace!!

Ummmm....yes. Your point being what? Those are all players Sven bought.

My point being, a shit squad similar to the one Sven inherited got us 8th, so obviously it wasn't as shit as we thought. You replied saying we had the likes of Bosvelt, SWP and Fowler when we got 8th. So I was pointing out we had the likes of Petrov, Elano and Corluka when we finished 9th.

And I was saying that squad that finished 8th was nothing like the squad Sven inherited. Squad Sven inherited had finished 4 points above relegation zone.
