So who do you want as our RB...

Micah or Zab?

I think this will be overwhelmingly one sided, I am voting for the other one.

Not conceded a goal yet so no need to change.

Look back through all the teams that have won the league, the thing that links them all together is that their keeper and back four line were settled and constantly the same players throughout the campaign.

We've got teething problems for sure but let the current back line of Richards---Toure---Lescott---Bridge develop into a unit over the current campaign and see them become excellent together rather than chopping and changing.

PS: I love the Englishness to our defensive unit now :-)

I love the word Englishness, from the MRMictionary.

No need to change just yet but Im happy with either players at RB at the moment.

Im sure Zabba will get his chance soon, I just think the opening 3 league games this season were more suited to Richards

you can't say the fact we haven't conceded is down to our fantastic defense though - that would be ludicrous

For me, it has to be mad Zabba - Micah is showing signs of his old self, but he's still very raw.
At the end of the day if Nedum isn't ready to make the CB role his own, I'm pretty certain the same applies to Micah at RB.

Zabaleta could not have coped with Moses' pace last night, he would have been caught short. Playing Richards was the right decision.

Personally I want Zabs...but then i've never rated Richards and probably never will...possibly the clumsiest looking player i've ever seen on the ball

micah, he will get back to his best.

again the complete blindness to the fact that the sole reason we haven't conceded yet is Shay Given

For me it would be Zabba, however Micah has shown signs of becoming a very good RB and with a bit more confidence could push for an England spot. He just seems to lose it after a mis-timed or missed challenge as in the first half last night and then seems to drop too central to get cover off the likes of Toure/Shaun (that's why Ithink Shaun was ineffective in the 1st half, having to cover for Micah). However, I thought that after the break, and probably a good talking too, he did a very good job.

Micah is the weak link in the chain...surely people can see this?

yep, our defenders have absolutely nothing to do with that.

I'm suprised there was no 'neither' option.

I think few would argue that the weakest position on our team is RB. Zabba has done very little to prove he's world class. Micah showed potential a couple of seasons ago and has age on his side, so would be fantastic cover for a world class RB, which as of yet we don't have.

No vote from me.

I was going to put a 'neither' but was really thinking about the current squad and not a potential one

It was glaringly obvious last night that Micah is a whole class below everyone on the team as a footballer now that Dunne's gone. He makes Lescott look like Beckenbaur. However much we want to see academy players in the team, unless Micah can significantly improve his quality on the ball, he'll become a squad player at best. Useful against aerial teams.

I won't be voting for Zabba though as I recon he's nowhere near good enough as a defender so my vote at present would be for A.N. Other & if I was Hughes I'd already be looking for a replacement for both.

Zabaleta is more complete player imo but it has to be that Micah is finding his form again. He has been excellent so far.

you don't believe that there needs to be an improvement in defense?

I believe after three games of the season and ONE game with Hughes first choice back four, we should give it time to get settled before saying it's broken.

tbh honest i am happy with what we have. i think micah and zabba are more than capable defenders and can change position if need be.

but to suggest our defense has nothing to do with clean sheets is silly. toure has been immense since he came in. and in barca (just a friendly i know) they all defended like warriors.
