It's amazing to think that just over 12 months ago there were City fans who thought Ireland would never be good enough!

I was one 24 months ago, but not 12 months ago

I remember the start of last season people were saying they would drive him up to Sunderland and snatch their hands off for £6M. I think he is worth four times that now....at least he would be if we were buying him.

It's taken me a while to think of this, but I've finally decided.

Emmanuel Adebayor.

I picked SWP and Robson I honestly can't pick between them I really can't and the vote lets me pick more than 1 so i did :). Can't believe how many have picked Ireland after most people on here wanted him out before last season.

There isn't even an option for Bellamy? That's a disgrace!

I've gone for Robinho because he produces stuff that's unique & wonderful & over the season i recon he'll do it again but in all honesty, on recent performances, it'd be Bellamy.

I cant believe Bellemy doesnt get a mention either, certainly our player of the season so far, but for all the right reasons it would have to be Ireland or SWP.
Hoping our new rollercoaster gives us the thrill of our lives.

I dunno why people are lauding over SWP.

Sure he's homegrown but he fucked off to Chelsea.

Also, he's no longer one of our best players.

At the start of this thread I went for Superman, primarily for his performance last year. So far this season I would vote for Bellers.

!00% effort, 100% commitment.

Given

May not have won any matches for us by scoring goals (yeah - I know he's a goalie before any smart-arse wades in with a sly comment) but he has definitely stopped us losing matches

Consistent quality performances and, (as I have said before), probably the best value signing MH has made

Overall it's Steven Ireland as he's home grown but Adebayor, Bellamy and Barry are my favourites of those bought in.

It might not be clever but Adebayor's one man wrecking misson vs Arsenal turned my head. Lunatic but a star.

40 odd posts before someone mentioned bellamy, then 4/5 come along at once. Sort of sneaks below the radar doesnt he.

He may still at some point revert to type and turn out to be a horrible cunt, but the sheer enthusiasm, never say die attitude, and recently capping this with an end product in the form of some belting goals and assists means that on present form, he is my favourite player, and possibly our most important player.

He plays the game the way I like to see it played - with passion which will always make him a favourite (cant understand the wankfest some on here have for Zabaleta), but I can now appreciate Bellamy's talent which I have to admit, I didnt give him the credit he deserves when he was at other clubs.

Consider this post my words from January being well and truly eaten - just hope he can stay fit now. If he does he could have his best ever season.

I really agree with this. He's so mentally sharp & full of running but so often in his career he's been either carrying an injury & about to go missing for weeks or just coming back from injury & not fully match fit. When he's 100% fit & playing regularly he's always been a nightmare to play against. He was great at Liverpool but wasn't getting games. RSC's career has been similar & imo he'll be just as big a success if 100% fit.
