You beat me to it mate, I was just about to point that out myself!

There is no doubt that sitting in 4th place with a game in hand over the three clubs above us and no goals conceded (I have said elsewhere on this site that Given has been our best value signing over the last 18 months - I may now upgrade that to best signing full stop) is a great start to the season
But, and it is a big but, there are many who want / expect us to break into the top 4 this season - to do that, you need to beat the top 4
We play Arsenal in 2 weeks time and the rags in 3 weeks time
6 points up for grabs - 3 at home and 3 away
We are undoubtedly a better side than we were last season and we have far more options in terms of formation / strategy etc
Howver, if the team does not lift its performance for the next two games, we will not get 6 points
To me, at this stage in our development, (or project if you prefer) 2 or 3 points from the next 2 games is not the end of the world
Think its easy to get carried away and confuse our ambition with our capabilities after the first three games of the season
Blackburn, Wolves and Portsmouth have not and will not provide us with our toughest challenge this season

>>>To be honest mate, the rags barely beat any of the top 4 last season & won the league,
Exactly right. I keep mentioning it but, the Filth won the League last year, not because of their results v top four, but because they were "flat track bullies", steam rollering the bottom ten with 58 points out of 60.
You only get three points for beating Arsenal, same as a 1-0 win v Portsmouth.

Actually it was john@ who mentioned it in posting http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/leagues/premierleague/mancity/6029021/Manchester-City-can-shake-up-predictable-Premier-League.html
