great read. i love hearing about the back and forth with managers and officials and players on the pitch.

Sometimes here in the US we wire up coaches and people on the sidelines in NFL matches. i'd love to see a footy match with both managers wired up to hear their running commentary during the match. that would be fascinating to me.

cheers

Good read, nice to see Bellers is just as cranky as ever. Warnock can be a complete arse but he's also a hell of a character who loves the game and has a lot to offer.

I wonder what the technical aspect on Tevez was that he can'r reveal - possibly that he isn't good in the air, which of course went down the tubes with the 2nd goal!

"Dont bother marking Tevez at set pieces, he'll never score with his head in a month of Sundays." OOPS

Brilliant read, really enjoyed that.

I'll bet Palace is definitely the short straw on the 4th official games rota. Sounds like hard work...."check Sky"..

Whats happened to him? Haven't been around for a while. Used to have a chuckle at some of his lame arguements, love of Warnock and his defence of the old KUMB

There is a technical detail about Tevez (over which I am sworn to secrecy)

I wonder what that is then.

I doubt it would be some technical flaw. It was probably something to wind him up - call him names or more likely kick him at every opportunity.

He left cause of Richard Dunne's bullying, hopefully he'll be back now he is gone.

Mate, there are two programmes you should watch about English football that feature wired up managers

One features Ian Holloway (not entirely football related but it is totally captivating viewing)

In June 2004, Holloway took part in the BBC series "Stress Test". The documentary addressed the fits of rage which were disrupting Holloway's home life, with the help of psychologists and an anger management expert. Holloway said afterwards: "If I hadn't done that programme, I wouldn't be sitting here now. Before I did it, I believed that I was a person who was kind, considerate, and believed in free speech. The anger management expert showed me I was a jumped-up, obnoxious little git who wouldn't listen at home because of what happened at work. If I'd carried on the way I was, I would have destructed everything I had." As a result he changed his attitude, and painted Promotion, an abstract canvas in the style of Jackson Pollock which hangs in the lounge of the family home.

The other features Graham Taylor when he was in charge of England's (failed) attempt to get to the 1994 World Cup. It too is utterly absorbing (and hilarious) for all the wrong reasons.

Don't know if you can get hold of the first one anywhere but here is part 1 of the latter

If you had a 'spy in the camp' report from Blackburn, Wolves and Portsmouth - you will probably hear the same tactics about Richards - it does not need Einstein

Excellent Find - Brilliant reading too!

There needs to be more of these kinds of things - probably the only factual peice of jounralism that you just have to finish reading for a LONG TIME!

Even caught myself warming to Warnock - but I snapped out of that little episode!

that is bad, very very bad.

Good article. Bellers comes across as a twat but I think everyone knows that anyway.
Tevez - not good in the air - then he scores a header, although he didn't have to jump for it

no mention of the offside Robinho goal though.
