Football would have to be the wembly play off final.

Non-football is 100,000 at the 1984 olympics in Los Angeles on the day Mary Decker fell.

I saw Inter-Udinese in -93. San Siro was far from full, but there were still around 55,000 people there. 43-44,000 at COMS is a much better experience, though.

Led Zeppelin Knebworth. At least twice as many in as the official figures probably more. Some of the security estimated 250- 300,000 for the 1st concert. 2nd concert seemed empty by comparison even though it was sold out. Almost a deadly crush on way in people starting to pass out & my feet were off the floor for half the time until I got in.

Football wise 100,00 Wembley several cup finals. Many of my family were at Maine Rd when the record crowd was reached, said that was something to behold. My biggest crowd at Maine rd was (I think) 67,000 (correct me if I'm wrong) v rags when the North stand was built & still standing? Been in 1 or 2 of about 63,000 there too if I remember right.

Thought the biggest Eastlands crowd was against Liverpool last season at New Year, as there was no segregation? Anyway, my biggest game at Eastlands has to be either that or Chelsea last season or whatever other game has been the biggest.

Not sure for Maine Rd, as the crowds pre-premier league were dropping away and post that, the capacity was never more than low 40s.

Biggest for any match has to be the 99 play off final, unless there was more at the Full Members Cup Final.

Most City fans I've ever been part of has to be the promotion game at Blackburn in 2000. My estimate was 6.4M, with even more outside the ground.

43,246 for that game. I bet you've been in bigger crowds than that at Maine Rd.

I probably have, but none jump out at me like this one does.

>>>Away - Scum pit - 1990 1 - 1. Ian brightwell special, ensured a draw. Never seen so many rags leave the place after Brighty scored.

I can remember being shocked at seeing great swathes of empty teracing on the Stretford End (which wasn't that big in the first place) And if you were at the first of those derbies, you surely saw a much larger exodus of Filth than cleared off when Bobby beat Slippery Jim all ends up with that glorious screamer.
I bet you've been in loads of bigger crowds than that one too. You have brought up some lovely memories but not really answered the question. Go and stand in the corner!

I dont go to an awful lot of away games, not as many as I should, anyway. I used to go away all the time in the 80's, but since, the kids came along, its really put the stop on that avenue of pleasure. But I think this was the biggest i have been too.

Thats showing off.
Wembley 81 I was only 12 quite overwhelming at the time. Only been to the shithole once mid 80`s 1-1 draw. Had a ticket in the rag end, told a copper I was a blue and he put me in the away end. Would never happen now. I refuse to go to the swamp now unless everything is free as I don`t want to service their debt. Hamburg away as well for me.

1981. My ticket was middle of Spurs end. No trouble though, despite my blue gear.

1981 cup final, 100,000 and also went to the 88 final (liverpool v wimbledon) as a guest of the guernsey fa (don't ask) - also 100,000.

Biggest gate of any event I've been at was 102,000 plus for the Rose Bowl game on Jan 1st 1994 - Michigan vs Washington.

There were 47321 at Eastlands for our home game with Liverpool on 30 Dec 07, but there were 10 more there for the visit of Chelsea last year.

The biggest crowd ever at Maine Rd without a shadow of a doubt is still increasing at every conversation.
It is the fucling several 100,000 that say they were part of the 8,000 crowd who were at our lowest attendance.

Apart from the obvious 100,000 at Wembley for a variety of Cup Finals, 63,000 was quite usual at maine Rd for the derby.

I think more seats were sold for the 'Pool game, but hospitality/corporate isn't included in that figure, which is where the Chelsea game beat it.
Does anyone know the box/corporate capacities by any chance?
