He was free with the goalkeeper, but hit the ball a bit too far with his first touch. He raced for it and got a toe on it, just before the keeper got to it, right at the penalty area line. The ball hit the shin of the goalie, bounced on Zlatan's chest and then - 11 beautiful meters - straight into the goal

So not much luck involved then.

Nope thats it for Norway. Even if Holland do whack 4 past us and you finish second your points are by far and away the worst of any other 2nd team and you will miss out. Its quite possible Scotland could beat Holland and also miss out. To e fair its such a crap group is embaressing that who ever finishes second is having to worry about making the play offs.

Australia was pure pus getting mauled by the Koreans 3-1. We were shit. I was very pissed having watched two games previous so all I can remember is that we were shit and I gave Park Ji Sung the finger everytime I saw him.

No-one's mentioned it but Vladimir Weiss started for Slovakia at the weekend

I've just watched the highlights on the OmniSportTV thing on the Guardian's football page

to quote the commentator at the start "and here's Vladimir Weiss on the ball...he's had a glorious first half, the teenager"

Slovakia are two points clear in Group 3 with a game in hand on Northern Ireland

Bizarre that one of these two of our fringe academy graduates looks like a pretty safe bet to be at the world cup.....unlike Bojinov, Petrov and even maybe Tevez.

Reading yesterday that Maradona is expected to pressurise the Argentinian FA to let him bring in Oscar Ruggeri as defensive coach. The Argies look awful at the back and hopefully a new defensive coach may cast his eyes over Mad Zabba

I still can't get my head around players like Carlton Cole and Emile Heskey featuring for England.

carlton cole is a very good player imo. think alot of big clubs will be after him soon.

heskey is utter shite and always has been.

Well we'll have to agree to disagree then. Carlton Cole imo is absolutely horrendous striker.

The US team barely scraped by El Salvador at home, still think Bob Bradley is terrible

our neighbors below had a great game, Mexico is finally shaping up, Gio Dos Santos had an incredible game, bet Redknapp still doesn't play him ever

the Dos Santos goal before the break was a cracker

Is the reason Harry doesn't play him not that he's on loan at Ipswich Town though?
