Sorry if already posted: Individual highlights.

This lad's already better on the ball than Robinho, can he also develop Robbie's genius for the snidey final pass? If he does he'll be a much better player than Robbie because he has the workrate to go with the skill.

but it's a pleasure watching this kid and I can't wait to see him at his peak in a couple of years!

Better than Robinho?

He is very small, and not far off his final adult height or build. Maradonna was a midget though.

High hopes for this lad, however Lee Croft had high hopes as well.

Shit, I completely forgot about him! I wanted to watch the game but the good lady's dad didn't want to watch 'bratricide' so we ended up with Goya's Ghosts.

I take it all back, just watched the video, very impressive

Lacks quality in the final ball, but the movement, pace, skill, intensity is fantastic.

SWP's replacement no question.

He's got great skills, but he needs to learn to play more simple and let the ball do the work. Save the fancy tricks for when it's really needed/it can give him/the team a great advantage.

I hope gets a serious chance for the first team this season, I love watching this guy take on defenders! In fact when I get my home shirt I will put No. 40 and Weiss on the back I think. :)

Very similar movement to Ashley Young. He tore Barcelona defence to shreds a few weeks back as well.

This is the point I was making; he needs to produce more with the final ball & I should've included getting a shot off too. It's the weak spot & the final piece in his jigsaw. Imo he's already better than someone like Robbie at beating players etc & also works harder but Robbie will give the ball away crappily 10 times then score or create a goal with the 11th. Without the final touches Robbie would be worth absolutely nothing & it's the same with Weiss. Looks like it's coming together though; couple of decent crosses & great through ball in there. Exciting stuff.

Will he be up against McGivern tomorrow night?

An interesting aspect to Weiss is his partnership with Mak. They have known each other a long time and both appear to have great ability. It could stand us in good stead.

Hope we get to see Mak before too long. He's the kind of player who could make an impact coming from the bench; fast & lively.

Final ball needs improvement for sure - at least hetakes people on, so I think he is more exciting than Robhino from that point of view. Robinho is a lot more static and holds play up far too often with all his show-boating and step-overs.
Weiss would be great to bring on if we are 1-0 down with 20 mins t do.

No doubt about it, this lad is a serious serious talent. Made the jump to international level seamlessly. Has a massive future at City. I wouldn't say he's better than Robinho, but I see him being one of top players in the trophy winning years to come.

I've been impressed by what I've seen of him at youth level, but I was most impressed with his performance against Barca, where he almost seemed to be acting as a central midfielder. Much as I hate to say it, he has the perfect examples of wing play not too far away. Tranny started with all teh tricks but no result. When he became more direct, he was a real threat. Nani still hasn't worked that out, which is why he isn't even a regular.

Showboating is great, as long as there is an end product to it and if Weiss can realise that, he could be the world star we've been unable to buy.

He will most likely be playing against Northern Ireland tonight (19.45 Sky Sports 3). Expect him to be marked by 2 defenders and come up against some rough house stuff early on.

I first saw him in the Youth Cup games 2 seasons ago. This guy is already a big talent with electric feet with tons of tricks. He does things that you have to see in slow motion to fully appreciate. The ball seems to stick to his toes and he can skins defenders at very close quarters. He has the pace and directness of Dennis Tueart in his prime with 2 good feet. His ability to make space where there is none reminds me of John Robertson, European Cup winner with Nottingham Forrest. One of differences is that his team mates have no real idea of when and where he is going to cross, but they will catch up. He is also very brave.

This guy has the talent to become something very special. I expect MH to use him as an impact sub this year.
