Internationals tonight

Internationals tonight

Postby BlueinBosnia » Wed Sep 09, 2009 5:05 pm

What with internet streaming, you can watch pretty much anything you want tonight (Gabon are on iraqgoals as we speak). So are there any particular games anyone's watching, bar the obvious?

I'm going to be watching Bosnia v Turkey, and also keeping an eye on Armenia-Belgium (Armenia currently winning 1-0).

Not really. Have you seen the Eurovision votes between the two countries? I always get something free from a kebab shop when I'm wearing Bosnia stash! The two countries are pretty close, and Bulgaria was the first country to recognise Bosnia as an independant country as part of a deal in which a Turkish businessman wiped out their national debt to him.

Went to the game in Istanbul a couple of years ago, no problems whatsoever, kind of. However, the winner of this game will almost definately get 2nd place in the group (although Bosnia are 4 points ahead of Turkey with 3 games to play), as Belgium are getting thrashed by Armenia.

The Belgiuan team for the last 5-10 years must be one of the most under performing national sides ever. If you just look at the players, they should be doing alright, but they always fail miserably.

Well, the history's there, but Bosnia had a pretty decent role in the empire. Read Bridge Over the Drina by Ivo Andric to get a good perspective (the book won him a Nobel Prize), and a lot of Bosnian culture is derived from it.

There's only one game for me tonight. No starting place for Shaun or Lescott!

None. Internet job. Final score 2-1 Armenia. Belgium out, I think. At least Kompany has a free summer.

Does he actually deserve the place? Not in my book!
