We weren't actively pursuing a right midfielder at all; Arry was simply trying to chuck Bentley at us so he could get Petrov, leaked all this to the press so we woke up on deadline day with the story everywhere. Within 5 hours City quoshed it - I do not deduce from this that we need a right midfielder.

We have SWP, we have Weiss. Beckham cant actually run anymore, he is hated at City and also still gets his little pecker out anytime u****d are mentioned so I'd reckon there's more chance of Messi turning up in January myself. Purely a gut feeling mind.

I'd have thought he's MUCH more likely to make a surprise return to the swamp. He's said plenty of times its the only place he'd come and they do have previous for bringing in pensioners on short term deals. Bit of a swansong?
