The only excuse he has for not seeing the incident is that he had hair gel in his eyes.

Mark Clattenburg might have missed Emmanuel Adebayor's 'stamp' on Robin van Persie but it's harder to miss the miracle occurring on the top of the official's head.

The Consett-born ref's old egg-in-the-nest look appears to have been replaced by a new, lustrous growth.

Let's be charitable and say it's grown back naturally. And that Clattenburg's Eastlands error was just the result of a bald... sorry, blind spot.

Well done all. You've just done to Mark Clattenburg what Stephen Hunt did to Stephen Ireland. Pat yourselves on the back.

To be fair, you've got 2 choices nowwa days, do a Stevie or do a Stevie. If the syrup doesn't work, shave it off and I don't think young Mark would look that good with slap!

We have never lost a game with Clattenburg in charge. Maybe the sheikh helped him out with some miracle grow.

Get a grip.

Dear diary, I wanted to speak to you about very important subject in my life right now, Mark Clattenburg's hair.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

The sporting world is full of success stories around hair regrowth. Give the lad a break.
