Hypothetical Question about Ades ban

Postby Vhero » Wed Sep 16, 2009 10:38 am

Hypothetical Question here if Ade gets say a 4 game ban would you rather lose him for the rags match which is super important and only 4 match's in total OR get him for the rags by contesting the ban and losing him for possibly even more?

Non hypothetically - we don't have a choice.

Definitely get him in for the filth match. With Tevez, RSC and Robinho coming back over the next month he isn't as vital as he is for this match.

The FA have never interpreted acceptance of a punishment as anything other than a sign of weakness.

If there's even the slightest case for an appeal it's worth appealing unless you'd rather miss the next match.

It is without precedent to my knowledge for a ban to be increased for defending yourself. If a red card had been issued during the match we'd be appealing. There's a reasonable case for stating that this was an accident, I think it was.

The decision will be made before the rags match whether we contest it or not. That is a fact. It's being 'fast tracked' & will be done & dusted, whatever we do, probably by tomorrow.

As imo they've already decided the outcome before we appeal, he won't be playing at OT so there's probably no point appealing.

He will get off because the charges are baseless and should be chucked out.

I didn't know he'd been found guilty yet.
