Was that the 10% owned by Thaksin? Maybe he needed the cash?

It means we're 100% the richest club in the world instead of 90%.

It basically means that he is free to invest in the club without being screwed.
If, previously, he only owned 90% of the club and invested an extra £100M, increasing the value of the club by £100M, then obviously the value of his share of the club will only have gone up £90M and the other co-owners' worth will have gone up by £10M for doing fuck all.

I had the feeling this would happen after reading the quite negative interviews with Hughes and Cook regarding the Sinatra regime. It wouldn't make sene for the to come out and bad mouth a fairly substantial shareholder.

Now we need an expert on this one, but I think I read somewhere in the press during the fuss at Pompey (over owners) that the 10% was owned by some Abu Dhabi holding company.
I'm sure there was some legal or financial need for a strange transition like this.

I hope that tosser at Pompey wasnt one of the ones holding ten percent - I wouldnt give that plonker a cold. Thinking about it he couldnt be though, since he would effectively be 'owning' two clubs.

So were those shares Frank's or were they owned by people who refused to sell to Frank? If so then they may have got a good price perhaps & been clever by not selling to Frank? If it was Frank's shares they bought; how the fuck did they find him?

They were Frank's shares. I strongly suspect that there was an option agreed during the takeover to set the price.
There's not a lot of point investing in the club when you're subsidising another investor.

It appears that it was, the official website says the 10 percent was owned by 'Worldwide Investments Limited'
http://www.mcfc.co.uk/News/Club-news/20 ... sole-ownerAnd I found this article concerning the original purchase by the Sheikh last year which mentions the above company: "The deal also saw the transfer of 10% of the issued share capital of the premier league club to Worldwide Investments Limited a company indirectly owned by Dr Shinawatra and members of his immediate family."
