Team To Play West Ham...

Postby 10.Goater_Legend » Sun Sep 27, 2009 9:56 pm

I'd go with...

- - - - - - - - - - - - Given

- - Zaba - - Toure - - Lescott - - Bridge

- - - - - - - - - - - de Jong

- - - - - SWP - - - - Barry - - - - Petrov

- - - - - - - - Tevez - - Bellamy

Give Stevie a break imo to get him back to 100% and give RSC a run out for the last half an hour.

That looks good to me, what do you do to bring RSC in?

also I'd like to know if johnson might get a couple minutes at the end

Just take Bellamy off mate and let Tevez play of RSC, be great to see Johno in there with all the new players aswell at the end. I think a Johno, Barry partnership has the potencial to be our strongest midfield pairing.

is RSC ready to start from the kickoff?

I have no way of knowing other than douglas' training reports, if he is I'd like to see him play a whole game. But I also don't want him to come back too early and have his glass legs shatter from the strain.

No idea if RSC can start, if he cant then ummm....I really hope Ireland gets a break so SWP will have to move forward and Zabs to come into the midfield. Zabs--De Jong--Barry, jesus, you'd get robbed of your milk money in that midfield.

I'm up for playing Petrov. Faubert isn't very good at RB and I think Petrov could take advantage.

If RSC cant start, then Petrov--Bellamy--Tevez up front might work but I wouldn't want to drop Petrov into a 3 man midfield cause tackling isn't his strong suit.

To quote Harry Redknapp....we are down to the bare bones tonight really...

Ireland - ill
Robinho - crocked
Adebayor - suspended
Onuoha - crocked
Richards - crocked
Benjani - crocked
Kompany - crocked
Mee - egypt
Trippier - egypt

I'd say it's got to be

-----------------------Given-------------------------
Zabaleta-----Toure----------Lescott-------Bridge
SWP-----------------De Jong-----------------Barry
Bellamy--------------Tevez-----------------Petrov

Bench from: Santa Cruz, Garrido, Johnson, Sylvinho, Taylor, Weiss

and I think that is every single available player???!

RSC from the start would be a surprise but not impossible. More likely would SWP into the middle to play off Tevez and Weiss on the right or playing 2 down the middle with Petrov on the left.

They certainly do on paper but against well organised defensive oriented teams that starting line up lacks variety & power going forward. So long as we keep either RSC or Ade in the picture, we're much more balanced but imo we should find either a veteran or brilliant kid with physical presence to add to the squad in case both Ade & RSC go missing at the same time.

Has anyone on here seen John Guidetti play? I believe he's big, fast, talented & had a bit of a blinder for the U18's the other day. Could he be fast-tracked into the squad? Anybody?

Agreed, but not too long ago our choice was between Benjani and Vassel or Vassel and Mpenza ...

I'd rather not think about that.

SWP isnt on form, may be tired and in need of a rest too. Garrido can play on the left, not my choice but I think this is a possibility?

Some funny ideas on here today. Bear in mind Les doesn't like changing things too much, also that he prefers Bellamy on the left where he can:
a) attack like lightning
b) defend
c) wind everybody up

Reckon the original planned starting line-up would've been:

Given

Zabba Toure Jolene Bridge

SWP Barry Jongers Bellers
Ireland
Tevez

...with RSC on the bench

(not sure if Richards is fit btw)

Now with Ireland's virus finally showing itself I reckon RSC has a chance to start, with Tevez dropping back into the advance mid role. If Petrov starts Les will have a low opinion of Hammers' attacking powers, but they look quite nippy going forward to me.

A nice open pitch with a nice open defense that passes around would be a good full league debut for a young hungry Slovak.

For me it is a choice between him and Petrov for Ireland's place tonight if Richards is unfit and unable to play right back. If he is fit then Zabba will play in midfield and Barry will play high up the pitch.

--------------------GIVEN---------------------

ZABBA/MICAH----TOURE------LESCOTT----BRIDGE

------------------DE JONG---------------------
--------SWP/ZABBA-----------------BARRY-----------

---WEISS/SWP---------TEVEZ---------BELLAMY--

I can see Petrov and RSC been used as the super subs to come on after 70mins and to get a goal from a cross and a header :-)
