Best first 11

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Best first 11

Postby edge275 » Mon Sep 28, 2009 9:11 pm

So, who does everyone think our best 11 is now?

I'm going for this

--------------------------Given-------------------------

Zabaleta------Toure-----------Lescott--------Bridge

--------------------------Barry--------------------------

------------Tevez------------------Bellamy------------

---Robinho------------------------------Petrov--------

------------------------Adebayor------------------------
"Like all bullies, they've just found out that there is a much bigger guy in town, someone who is richer and more powerful than their worst nightmare. And this smiling Arabic assassin is intent on stealing all the treasures they've nicked off everyone else, and pulverising them into commercial and footballing oblivion as he does so."

It's all about squad mate and whoever we are playing.

Your side would get completely over run in midfield and is a bit of a joke.

One thing is for sure, Robbie has got a fight on his hands. If he wants one, that is.

Nah, Tevez and Bellamy have the work rate.

We had four on today and didn't do too bad.

We've been playing a different style of football the last few games:

(minus the derby)

All I can say is that it is 'Continental Europe,' and SLOW;

and in order not to offend, that is all your going to get from me.

Edge, do you not like midfielders or what???......is that a 4-1-5?..............................would sure be exciting to see....at either end!.

This is a hard one now, with all the quality we have in the squad, never mind starting XI the manager now picks, I cannot help but leave out players that I do really like seeing play in a City shirt and some of my fave players at that!.

-------------------------------------Given

Zabaleta-----------------Toure-------------Kompany----------------Bridge

Bellamy-------------------de Jong-----------Barry-------------------Petrov

-------------------------------------Robinho

-------------------------------------Adebayor

subs: Taylor, Lescott, Onouha, Ireland, SWP, Weiss, Tevez.......................................(£80m+ worth of Talent on their alone!....good luck Hughes picking a team from this squad when all are fit and firing!)

Hey lads we have got a manager here in our midst!.........someone who slates others opinions of a side they consider to be the best, this fucking pisses me off this, if you don't agree fine, but in no way was it a joke, and who says we would be over-run, last I checked sides need the ball to over-run someone, Barca don't suffer being over-run too often and they tend to be very attack minded.

You are quite entitled to your own opinion, but lets not start this "that is a joke" bullshit, if he meant it as a joke he would have said so, or made out that it was meant to make people laugh................I don't agree with his side, but I'd sure as fuck pay to watch them, if it was selected for any game this year.

I think the question is too hard to answer which just shows what a challenging job Hughes has. Edge's initial choice is a mega exciting team and for the right opposition could be great but we could put all sorts of teams out there which would be great.

Let's hope we can get everyone fit and raring to go to create the selection difficulties.

Given
Zabaleta Toure Lescott Bridge
SWP Ireland Barry
Tevez Ade Robinho

this^ for home games definitly very attacking

and for away games i would go for

Given
Zabaleta Toure Lescott Bridge
De Jong
Barry Ireland

I was screaming minutes before west hams goal. It seems to me, we go all out to score. Then hughes tells them to sit back. We often then let them score, before starting to play again. We cannot do this. The difference with the scum is, they dont stop until there 3 or 4 up.

Hughes's reaction after the goal was not one of a man who had encouraged his side to sit back when 1-0 up after 2 minutes.

The goal was against the run of play and poorly defended. And west ham are a pretty decent side.
