Heck Jack, Johnson's Back

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Heck Jack, Johnson's Back

Postby CitizenYank » Mon Sep 28, 2009 9:26 pm

Never been that high on him: but have to admit, he's an interesting asset.
Looked healthy fit and in very good shape.

He's still only 21 and he's got more talent than he knows what to do with.

Is there a future role for him here and can we keep the "pints" of weight
off him???

What do you think?

He has a natural talent and could become a great player.

Whether he does or not is down to his self discipline.

Are you joking? I hope the lad gets his fitness back and all but he was carrying alot of extra weight.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Lots of potential but at this point that's all it is.

Lee Croft had potential.

Thought he looked ok actually, I think he has bulked up a bit muscle wise which gave the impression of etra weight. Was great to see him back.

Well put. He has absolutely massive potential in him and if he REALLY wanted it he could become really good midfielder. However there was long way to go even before his injury.

Johnson has become almost a myth figure to some. Many people seem to forget that even when he was fit, there were clear weaknesses on his game that needed lot of honing. Like the fact that he always seemed to disappear for long periods during the game.

Let's hope he can find his hunger (pun intended) back and starts working again and all the personal problems are behind him. I also hope that club are giving him right kind of help, not only physical but mental also.

Think his build has changed over the last year rather than just being overweight. Anyway, good to see him back and looking forward to the additional option it will bring.

Not too bad but he did have a bit of a look of a baseball slugger about him. (Not quite that bad though).

I'm just glad to see him back. If he doesn't get injured again he'll be manic fit soon enough.

Fantastic to see him back. I hope it is the real thing this time, as i'm sure everyone does. He certainly does have potential, and I think he could be a perfect stand in if Ireland and/or Barry are unavailable for a while.

I think if we have a midfield of Ireland--Barry--Johnson, we have three very well rounded players who can pretty much do it all.

I would agree with that. Away from home, especially against top opposition I would go for De Jong though, for that extra bite. I don't expect you to agree with me much on that one though!

Actually I do, I thought he was quite good and have been thinking about Kompany--De Jong ala Liverpool style.

Got to work this morning and my brother, who had watched the game elsewhere, said "he looks like you".

Johnson's not fat, he's just built up muscle he didn't have before. He may become a bit more toned & lean looking as he gets fitter but he's a bigger bloke now & he'll mostly stay that way. He's looking very light on his feet though. I'm sure he'll be a lot stronger & therefore better than before if he can stay clear of his injury problems.
