I'm not anti Hughes at all despite others here thinking they can talk for me. I think he's doing a great job this season. I couldn't give a shit who he played for or if he went to manage U***d tomorrow. Whilst he's at City he has my full support.
But do I think Sven could've done better than he did in his first season if he was given a second? Yes I do. Especially if he was given the sort of cash that was splashed around. Hughes did worse, least we forget. Do I think Sven could've won 5 games from 6 this season having spent a quarter of a billion pounds? I think he just might've. Would I want one of England's best post-war managers and a man who has won trophy after trophy throughout his career or a guy who has never really achieved anything as a manger? Please don't take this as a slight on Mark Hughes because it's not, far from it. But for me there is no comparison. Yet.
As I say I didn't voice my opinion because this debate has been done to death now and, until Hughes proves that over a season he can deliver, my personal opinion will not change. But please don't assume that everyone has an ulterior motive and call those people "sad" when you are the one bringing your "fuck off cunt" internet wars onto a (usually very good) forum of public debate.
Time to barricade myself in.

You have obviously not been reading this site very closely regarding winning the League.
I certainly have posted that we could well do so...and there are others, not least Slim, who have also mentioned it.
Please keep up....:-)

What I said was for the first time in many years we have a chance to win the league. It may be a small chance, a very small chance. If we are dealing in percentages maybe it's 1%(for example) but it's one more percent than we have had in the last 25 years or so.

I will be buying much beer in the Townley if we do - I had a significant bet on CITY to win the PL back in May - 33/1
