Taggart knew the score when he made that statement. His team selection for that game was shit, his tactics were shit, the game was shit and the outcome he got was shit. Therefore, to deflect criticsm from himself and the team (who he knows are going to struggle to retain the Crown), he instigates another hate campaign against somebody/thing. He is the King of Spin!

The problem with him now is, he has been in an untouchable position for so long that he now believes he can say anything and do anything to any of the governing body's (to be blunt, a God), and to a greater extent, those governing body's have put him there. The media have also come to believe whatever he says and have defended him to the hilt. However, this time he has gone to far and those who have bowed to him are beginning to change their tune because if they don't it will lead to even bigger cynicism towards the game, and especially the scum.

I expect nothing less than a lengthy touchline ban (5 games minimum), a fine that is possibly bigger than Ade's and a public apology to Wiley. And yes, I know it should be more but let's face it, the FA are going to have to ask Taggart for permission to charge him in the first place, so anything that does happen will be with his Blessing!

The FA are currently waiting for Baconface's decision.

He made an apology but the refs association wont accept it they want more they think that apology isn't good enough. I think its more than this really I think they finally getting together and having the balls to finally do something about Baconface once and for all I think he had this coming a long time lets just hope the FA help them get justice eh?

Typically he hasnt actually apologised, or admitted he was wrong - he has expressed regret for comments aimed specifically at Wiley. The last line in his 'apology' actually fuels the argument by suggesting its a widespread problem with modern referees. I personally hope the referee's union goes ahead with a claim of defamation againt the old fart.

If his apology is accepted by the FA then i think the referees should all walk out in protest, i am not a big referee fan but NO referee NO football then what would the FA do. The referees job is hard enough has it is without a self-opinionated the world revolves around me buffoon putting his oar in from what i have read in the papers he is on the RUN

What apology???

That was no kind of an apology just more arrogant 'I am' crap - it is an insult not an apology and if the ref in question, his union or the FA see it as anything else then they are spineless twats - how can he say he meant nothing personal - the vast majority of the comments are directed specifically at Wiley - he could not keep up for the 2nd goal - he took 30sec a booking cos he was tired etc etc

Absolute arrogant insult - but you cannot help thinking that there has been some agreement 'behind the scenes' that if he apologies then the FA will just 'remind him about future conduct' etc - they spineless admin people probably expected a bit more than this piss take though

I'd like to think that if he gets off without any further action after his 'apology' we see a complete turnaround in refereeing decisions as a back-lash. Mind you, I'd like to see him banned and the refereeing deisions still go aginst him. Either way, if the referees decisions start to go against him, he's going to lose the plot big time and self implode.

That coupled with our inevitable rise should do nicely

I think they should tie him to a hard backed wooden chair in the corner blindfolded facing the crowd whilst, at boring moments in the game, different referees of the past come up & he has to guess which one it is. Everytime he gets it wrong, they dump a big bucket of shit on his head.

As anyone metioned that the Referee's Association (or whatever they are called) have rejected Taggarts apology and stated that if the FA don't take action, they will be looking to take legal action for defamation?
