Congrat's but I still can't believe the bias towards CONCACAF by FIFA. How many places do you get in World Cup? I mean apart from Mexico, there's really not one decent footballing nation in the area.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

the yank army are gonna be hitting S.A. with their great songs, such as:

U S A, U S A

and the classic

U S A, U S A

and lets not forget the rousing

U S A, U S A.

Oh the joys of listening to such lyrical genius, ow I'm really looking forward to the world cup.

Agreed. I always feel sorry for the minority of true footbal fans in America. Michigan has showed on here that he knows what he's on about so I don't know why he's getting so much shit. And it's also a bit rich of us Brits to goad the US about Iraq and "oil".

Congratulations, Michigan - let's hope the States side bring as much to this WC as they have in the last few.

Funny nickname the 'Septics'. Are they a bit infected then?

'Come on you septics' doesn't have the same ring as 'come on you blues'!

There are three guarenteed spots, with the fourth playing in a play-off with South America... I think that it's fair based on the amount that Asia gets... And it is competitive for the births, the States, Mexico, Costa Rica, Honduras etc...

I don't understand why so many Brits give the US such a rough deal. Usually the most vocal are the one's who've never been there.
I'd rather be a powerhouse in world politics than just a Brussels monkey - bloody irony that these days I can't even afford to visit the land of the Euro to complain!

Well done the USA, I know I'd rather share a beer with a decent yank over most of the other nationalities that'll be in S.A.

Think people forget we policed the world before we accepted we were no longer top dog and were probably financially relieved to pass on the responsinbility. Don't believe the hype.

Three guaranteed spots AND play off spot (which you naturally lose to South America but anyways), is absolute ridiculous amount considering teams there are. Take a look at some of the countries that will be out in Europe. And Africa.

You only get three because FIFA wants to make sure you are in the competition and it pisses me off. I'd give you one spot and the play off spot or MAX two guaranteed spots. Three + one, ridiculous. Come on, you'll have to admit it even yourself.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?
