How many times?

Postby Beeks » Wed Oct 14, 2009 8:33 am

Has anybody on here NEVER been to a City match?

Just wondering as there are lots of City fans that don't live in the UK on here?

What about 68 and Walshaw?

They must have their own sub category for 10k plus.

Over 100

Perversely my most regular periods of attendance probably ranged from 1990-93 and then 97-2000 pre and post university and mainly prior to moving to London and elsewhere when I rarely missed a home match and got to quite a lot of aways.

The latter period was particularly poor from a footballing quality perspective.

When in London I probably got to 5 homes a season and all the London games

Then as soon as we get loaded and good, I move thousands of miles away

It's official I am a genius

What if I have been to 50 exactly? The poll confused me and I ended up voting for Pat Buchanan.

Who in gods name could have been more than 10,000 times? That's about 200 years worth.

Voted 10k + It's not quite been that many but voting only 100+ somewhat demeans my stature as a supporter Lol :-)

I saw there were two who had never been to a match on here before and one now

Personally i'd love to take a first timer to a game...i've taken girlfriends before...but never a proper fan to their first game...would be great just to see the reaction!

I voted Never.

Only been a City fan since 1969, always living no more than fifteen miles from either ground and had lots of times with a fat wallet, just never seemed to get the inclination to drive down or get on a bus or train.

I'd much rather catch them on Match of the Day or more recently on Sky, Setanta or ESPN.

I can't even be arsed to go to the pub to watch them because there's always people shouting abuse at the big screen.

I do have an MCFC key ring that I show people if they doubt my support though.

I took an Aussie in our box last year for the first time ever at a football match over here and he was totally blown away by it all. It helped that is was Hull at home and we scored a shit-load. After cadging my City cap he then went into the shop and spent about £300 on different items for his family. Gave him details of Aussie supporters clubs to join on his return. It was great to introduce someone to City for the first time. Gonna take my Mam & Dad in January to celebrate their retirement as well but i think that will just be a one-off but you never know, my Mam may become the new Helen!!

I reckon about 600 - 700. Been going since 1966. Unless I'm mistaken , cant see that its possible anyone has been to more than 10000 - have we played that many games?

I'll give it a go but only been posting a short time so not allowed to start topic yet, will look out for a similar thread. I quite enjoy a good lambasting over the internet.

I almost had the villages with torches knocking down my front door because of one comment on a scouse band (Shack) forum regarding scousers pissing on the dead and dying at Hillsborough.

Some people!
