Its a win win for us isnt it. I for one will be hoping that Liverpool slip up and for the first time and last time ever i will be supporting the Rags this Sunday. Liverpool are in 9th place with 15 points and we are 5th with 17 points and a game in hand!! So if Liverpool lose and we beat Fulham we go 5 points clear of Liverpool with still a game in hand!! I doubt we will win the league this year so thats why i will be supporting the Rags against Liverpool!! It will take a fantastic effort to win the league and i am not saying we cant but it will be unlikely. Top 4 this moment in time is a great possibility but lets see where we are in january hey.
Arsenal are on good form in the league so far and they dont look like they will be slipping up anytime soon but anything could change!
So
Do all you want the same thing as me? (For the rags to beat Liverpool) Or are you all thinking differantly?
Cheers
Lewis

I see what your saying Lewis, but eams too. I never hope for Scum to win. Liverpool will slip up against other (lesser) teams, escpecially with Gerrad and Torres injured. However, I wouldn't mind a draw between the scum and scouse 1.

Fair enough Nool, Scum and scouse draw and we win we will be on the tail of the rags and further ahead of Scouse 1. Thats good enough for me!!
Always think positive hey lol.
But Liverpool are such a one man team init. They have nothing. They are just so flat against Lyon tonight. They dont look dangerous going forward one bit.

It's an interesting one really isn't it?
Those pessimists amongst us wouldn't mind seeing Liverpool lose so we a better chance of getting 4th. But man, 4th place pessimistic? How good is that?
There might be the hardy few that would rather Liverpool won just because they'd rather see that other team suffer rather than City gaining.
Then there's people, like me, who'd say fuck results around us, let's just concentrate on our own game and if we're good enough then we'll be there. I honestly believe, regardless of this weekend's results, that Liverpool will not be in the top 4 come the end of the season.

Fair enough, You speak good sense there lm. I am a person who likes just concentrating on their own results but it makes things even better if the teams that we are competing with slip up. We can only gain from that.

If we`re good enough, which we will grow into this season imo, then we will win it on our own back not cos bin dippers are shite or rags help us out. I could be a horrible twat and wish for a bomb..but I wont.

Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing Liverpool scoring an equalizer off a beach ball just to see Chewing Gum Cock's face : )

i hope we can finish top 3 not 4!! why cause if we finish 4th and say scouse twats won the chumps league and finished out of top 4 then they take OUR place ,the rule was changed a couple of years back so the holders qualify and have a chance to defend it

I suppose a draw would be ideal...but I do like watching a game where at least one team I dislike intensely will be disappointed, possibly two. Result!

I was thinking on the same lines although I would love it to be the winner in the 97th minute.

I'm sorry but I will never ever want the scum to win a football match. If they get a lucky draw and lose 2 points I might just live with thatbut scum to win!!!! you have to be joking.

Surely the best result is a draw. It takes two points off both teams. So I'll be happy with that.
City just need to concentrate on the next game and winning it, for the rest of the season.

no chance of that happening, they wont even make the knockout stage

We dont have to worry about Liverpool, they have to worry about us. They will continue to throw points away in their away games unlike the other lot who are canny enough to eek out a win when they aren't playing well.

I wouldn't worry about Liverpool, because this year they look very very mortal.
I don't know exactly what there problem is as a whole, although I'd be willing to bet the losses of Arbolea, and definitely Alonso have caused their midfield to be incohesive. Actually, their midfield tonight against Lyon was attrocious; if their jerseys didn't say Liverpool, I'd swear I was watching a second-division game in some tiny european country. How many inaccurate passes did they have, due to miscommunication or downright stupidity?
Anyway, my point is that even Gerrard and Torres cannot save this team from a finish outside of the top 4. There simply isn't the depth, especially at midfield, for them to succeed. Their second best midfielder is Benayoun.. what does that tell you? Not saying he is bad.. but c'mon..
