Will this match be on in the concourse on Sunday? Want to watch it but don't fancy it in Mary D's or somewhere like that and town will be full of rags.

Their next 4 are
Rags (h)
Arsenal Carling Cup (a)
Fulham (a)
Lyon (a)
They could easily lose all 4.

If Torres and Gerrard are out for them I can see it happening, I wonder what odds you'd get on that?

Be interesting to see if Torres & Gerrard miraculously recover. Rags have landed on their feet yet again with the timing of this one. By the time we play scousers they'll either be on a winning streak with the Penguin still in charge or have the usual 'new manager syndrome' that we always seem to cop for with every fucking team.

I wouldn't put too much on it, you would probably only get about 5/4 on. :]

the are game doesnt count as they will field a team of kids anyway, which will give Torres and Gerrard extra time to get fit.
Fair to say, their "air of invincibility" looks severely dented. I would love to be playing them now.

Part of me would love to see Rafa get the boot as he is a cretin and I find the Spanish waiter quite annoying
BUT someone new might sort them out and actually get them playing ok and challenging for the top 4 again
As things stand I think they are properly fucked this season. If they bomb out of the CL at this stage it will really affect their finances too which means they will lose their 4 million quid transfer kitty and the threat that they would have to sell (hopefully) Torres but (more likely Gerrard) becomes very very real indeed.
I doubt they would sell either to City as things stand....but just taking either player out of that squad leaves an unpluggable gap and there is NO chance they could get in the top 4 minus one of those two players IMO. Not this season with the extra competition there is.

I couldn't beleive they haven't lost four in a row for twenty-odd years, that's feckin amazing. Wish we had a record like that. But, times are hard at liverpool at the moment. They cannot even afford to sack Benitez, he's sat on a cozy 5 year deal and would screw them if they got rid. It's now a straight battle between us, Spurs & Villa for that 4th place spot. Personally i think Villa will fall away and it will be between us and Spurs at the end.

Woah threre, hold those horses folks!
Last season, after a bad start, Liverpool were the best TEAM in the country for a fair chunk of the season. They turned in a better performance at OT than we've done since Colin Bell was playing & only lost out in the Chump's lg because of 1 shit performance 1st leg to Chelsea. We will be that good, perhaps soon but we're not there yet. They're still better than us if they get their act together & writing them off now as a top 4 team is bloody daft.

Sorry Ted,
I usually find myself agreeing with you but I just doin't think they have a strong enough squad.
They might be able to put a good eleven out but during a long season, they have not got the back up.
It's the occasions that they can't put their best eleven on the field that will cause them to drop points.

That depends on whether those players miss important bits of the season or not. If they do, they're fucked but if they don't they're likely to hit form before long & last season they were the best team in the country for a substantial period & better than we are now.
They have the same squad + Johnson & that mysterious Italian dude but minus Alonso. They may not have the chump's lg to worry about anymore either. I expect them to fail but it could easily go the other way very very quickly.

Ahem, we stuck 6 past em the last time our kids played their first team.
That being said, they'll probably turn us over this time round. Damned game-raising b*st*rds!

Form is obviously important, but when it comes to derbies, particularly at Anfield, you just never know. This [urlnp=http://betting.betfair.com/football/premiership/liverpool-v-man-utd-betting-the-greatest-rivalry-in-englis-211009.html]premier league blog on Liverpool and Manchester United[/urlnp] looks at the charged atmosphere between the fans as much as the players. I didn't realise Gerrard had gone on the record with such anti-rags comments - even though he's looking like an injury doubt, you can bet this will add to the fire at the weekend if any rags fans do read it!

Just seen baconface on ssn refering to this match as a derby since when? I always thought a derby game was same City or town perhaps I have been thinking wrong for the past forty years.

So that would make the rags local derby....FLIXTON.

I know a rag win will probably improve our chances of a top 4 finish but it just goes against my footballing religion to want that to happen.
A draw will do nicely though, but frankly I just can't break the habit of a life time and still hope Liverpool stuff them!

So do we know if the Liverpool-United game is likely to be shown on the concourses from 2pm tomorrow?
